They told us 20 to 25 minutes. We ordered it over the phone because the point was to not have to wait inside the store. We get to the store 35 minutes later and waited 10 minutes just to be told it’s going to be another 10 minutes. Turns out they only made one of our pizzas. Decided not to tell us about it and put it in the oven as we’re sitting there. So one pizza was cold while the other one was hot. The pizza was too big for the box so they rolled it. Half the pizza was supposed to be Ground beef Which was barely sprinkled on. $60 and this is what you get for two pizzas what is this?
Always happy when there's a great pizza place I have to say the service is incredibly good too. Prices are fair. And let me tell you the pizza does not disappoint this is awesome pizza and is definitely worth a return trip. Though I think they should rename the pizza Bronx bomber to maybe something like let's go Mets or go Sox. 😎
Three stars. Solid neighborhood spot, but not perfect. Bala’s has the right idea. Pizza, sandwiches, cheesesteaks, calzones, slices ready to go. Small place, a few tables inside—three or so—so you can eat in, but it really feels more like a take-out place. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The pizza was okay, but a little dry for my taste. Not bad, just not great. The cheesesteak… same story. It works, it fills the gap, but it could’ve been better. A little more flavor, a little more care, and it would go a long way. To be fair, this is still a convenient neighborhood stop. You can grab a slice, pick up a sandwich, and be on your way without overthinking it. And places like this are good to have around. Bottom line: decent, quick, local pizza shop. Not a standout, not terrible. Three stars, with room to improve.
Absolutely LOVE Grandmas pizza. Somebody give her a kiss from me. The best pizza we have had hands down around the world. (We try pizza every country we travel.) I can’t believe we have never seen this in our area before now. Had this pizza twice in one week. So delicious !!
I’ve always thought the food at Bala’s Pizza in Bartram Park was really good, which is why this experience was so frustrating. I ordered two pizzas and was told they would be ready in about 25 minutes. I arrived 28 minutes later, only to find that they were just putting one of my pizzas in the oven. So I waited another 25 minutes inside the restaurant. Then the employee grabs a pizza box that had been sitting on a shelf since I walked in. Apparently, that was my other pizza. So I ended up with one piping-hot, fresh pizza and one pizza that had apparently been sitting there for 25+ minutes. If I wanted a 25-minute-old pizza, I would’ve ordered Pizza Hut for $10. I didn’t come to Bala’s and spend $60 for that kind of service. When I complained, I was offered the option to “reheat” the pizza. No thanks. I didn’t pay for a reheated pizza—I wanted the fresh pizza I ordered. Unfortunately, they refused to make me a new one. The food is usually really good, which makes this even more disappointing. But the way this was handled left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won’t be going back. Mistakes happen. What matters is how you handle them. In this case, the customer service was just as disappointing as the cold pizza.
