Restaurant staff was friendly and took care of us. Everyone in our party seemed to enjoy their food and the portions were good. Featured in the pic is the Whaler sandwich, which I enjoyed (the jalapenos and banana peppers give this sandwich it's character). Would come here again to try other things on the menu. The restaurant atmosphere was rather chill....it was clean but you can tell it had served many people across the years.
as a new englander, the new england clam chowder was decent. B+. conch fritters were delicious! however… the fried clams were not impressive at all - maybe i’m just spoiled with my cape cod clam shacks 🌝 the rest of the food was pretty good, service was good and the vibe inside was good. my local friend enjoyed her fried shrimp po boy sandwich
What a total disappointment. We just left this restaurant. Our party of 7 waited for nearly an hour and a half. Our waitress refilled our water once during that time; otherwise, we had no idea where she was. When we asked a different server about the long wait (which we were not informed about when we first arrived, or we would have gone somewhere else), we were told we were now third in line, and our food would be out shortly. It was not “shortly.” Finally, most of our orders arrived, and were not what we asked for. I asked for a 6 ounce patty on my burger, and it was a 4 ounce patty. My burger was dry with no mayo, mustard, sauce, etc. My mom’s burger had only a small patty on the bun, a very small amount of grilled mushrooms, and literally nothing else (no lettuce, tomato, onion, etc). We received no utensils until we asked for them, AFTER the messed-up orders finally arrived. My sister’s salad had no dressing. My niece had no utensils to feed the *eventual* mac-n-cheese to her baby. She just used her fingers to feed the baby, who had been hungry and patiently waiting the whole time. When the manager came over, she was short tempered and clearly upset. When we asked why it all was taking so long, we were told that due to Memorial Day weekend, they were slammed. Shouldn’t they be more prepared for the holiday weekend?? Ironically, there were only 4 other tables occupied in that whole room. While my sister was explaining the reason for our disappointment, the manager said she was going to look for another person, and just walked away. We finally just had to get up and walk out, because our flight leaves at 6am tomorrow morning and we still have a two hour drive back to our Airbnb. I’ve never just left a restaurant, but we are literally out of time, and still have no food. The photo was taken right as we left. What a sad experience. It’s almost funny how bad it all was. Funny, not funny. I live in the west; guess it’s good I’ll never have a reason to go back.
Oasis is a fun spot near the beach in Saint Augustine. A beachside weekend stay promoted dining out and enjoying some good vibes. Austin our server was cheerful and we had a great time. Drinks were delicious. This fish sandwich was arguably over toasted…but still delicious. Dedicated parking lot with plenty of parking and often live music at this spot. Looks like they’re adding comedy shows too.
Food was good. Blackened Mahi was flavorful and a large fillet. Riptide drink was really good. Almost tasted like a grape jolly rancher.
