The Art House

Four friends celebrated a 73rd birthday here, and it was a wonderful experience! Two of us had artistic backgrounds and two were complete beginners, but everyone created pottery we were proud of. Our reaction was “wow they look great!“ We left as “the fabulous four, loving our artsy pottery and the fun memories we made together.

We had a wonderful time with our private family lesson at the art house (Two parents and college age daughter). The quality of instruction and overall atmosphere was top notch. I particularly appreciated that the instructor was willing to work with our vision of creating a clay fountain. Also, they did a wonderful job glazing our pieces and then safely packed them all up to ship to Atlanta.

This was so much fun! We went to a beginner class, Sip and Spin, learning to throw. You make two bowls and the instructor was incredible. She walked us through all the steps before we turned on the wheels, then went step by step and came around to each person (there were six total) to help. She was so encouraging and patient, it made all the difference. You get a glass of beer or wine beforehand, and can purchase more during a break in the class. My bowls won't win any awards but it was a great time. It takes about 4-6 weeks after for you to get your pieces, as they have to dry, go in the kiln, and be glazed with whatever color you chose.

I took the 4-week beginner wheel throwing class at Art House St. Augustine, and it was an amazing experience! The class was fun and creatively challenging in the best way. I felt encouraged to try new things and really enjoyed the process of learning. The staff are incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable—they made the environment welcoming and supportive. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore their creative side!
