Thunder J's Pizzeria

THUNDER J’s is a HIT!!!!! My wife and I were riding through St. Augustine looking for a pizzeria and we turned to Google for help. We came across THUNDER J’s with a 5-star review and had to see what the hype was about. We found out why as soon we entered the establishment. The warm ORGANIC greeting was like no other. The family super hero pictures were a nice touch including the mother-n-law. Now the food: We had the supreme pizza with the not so knots. I must say the dough and the sauce are a hit. You can tell they are made in house. The sauce is smooth with no tart aftertaste. And the dough has a good chew. And they serve grandmas home baked cookies. They are a must try!!!!!!!

Annual visitor here. Always looking for the best pizza at the beach. We ordered the large Avenger (pepperoni pizza) and an order of Garlic Not Knots and and order of Cinnamon and Honey Not Knots. Pizza was good. Thin but not too thin, holds up with all the toppings. The only reason I knocked off a star was I felt like the Large was small for the price. Garlic knots were really good. Those didn’t last long. Cinnamon and Honey Knots were also good. Only recommendation or suggestion is maybe having a frosting dip with these. They are good as is though!

Tried Thunder-J’s Pizzeria in the St. Augustine Beach Winn-Dixie Plaza 👍👍 I didn’t even realize there was a new pizza place there until I recently saw a post online—and I’m so glad I did! What a great little local spot. Hands down the best meatball sub I’ve had in years. The roll, sauce, cheese, and meatballs were all absolutely delicious. The couple who run (and I believe own) the place are incredibly nice and welcoming—definitely the kind of place that makes you want to come back. Can’t wait to go back and try the pizza next! 🍕 Went back to Thunder-J’s Pizzeria in the St. Augustine Beach Winn-Dixie plaza to try the pizza after enjoying the meatball subs so much last week. I’ve got to give their pizza 👍👍 as well! We ordered a ½ cheese & ½ meatball and a supreme—both were delicious. The owner and his wife were just as friendly as my first visit, and I found out they’re a local mom, pop, and son business. Always happy to support great local spots! 🍕👏

First time at Thunder J’s was a fantastic experience. The pizza was delicious and the service was unlike anything you normally see these days. John was incredibly friendly and took the time to tell us about the care they put into their food, including 48-hour fermented homemade dough, cooked sauce and special cheese blend. They’re clearly passionate about getting things right. John shared how they spent a long time testing different recipes before opening and even got feedback from people in the community to help choose the best versions. What impressed me most was how everyone who walked through the door seemed to be treated like family. John knew many of the customers by name, and even as first-time visitors, we felt genuinely welcomed. It’s easy to see why they’re building such a loyal following after only 8 months. We’ll definitely be back.
