This was a very random choice and we are glad we stopped. At first we thought ir was IN the gas station. It is right next to it. A nice, clean, quiet place to eat with classic rock playing and not blaring. The service was fast and our waitress was very polite. We spent about $70 on 2 cokes, 2 calzones and one stromboli. I felt that the price was reasonable since we are going to eat the leftovers for lunch. They were all stuffed with fillings and real mozzarella cheese that stretched forever. YUM!! Everything tasted great and we will be back.
This pizza was amazing. I was shocked. I was planned to visit Pizza Time but recent reviews were horrible and overpriced and I saw this shop and I decided to try out and it was the best decision I ever made. I’m a pizza lover. I normally try all the famous pizzas in town. I had joe’s pizza and Ceres in NY, but this Carmelo’s pizza was better than any of famous pizza shops. This place is must visit.
This is not New York style pizza. Pizzas is supposed to be a balanced experience not a greasy, sloppy, cheesy mess. The bottom is completely soaked with grease. All the cheese and topping fall off when you pick up a slice. Sauce tasted good and service was nice. If you don’t mind a greasy over cheesed pie then this place is fine but I’m good and will never come here again.
We are visiting from out of town and we were looking for some delicious NY pizza and we were not disappointed! We got the Supreme Meat and the Cheese and the crust was perfect with a great brick oven 'crack' when we folded it in half. The staff was friendly and our pizza was ready fast!
Definitely the best NYC slice pizza !! Carmelo is a hole in the wall place Nice & thin crispy slice of pizza Their Special can’t be beat 2 slices and a Drink one affordable price Plus Subs As a UberXL driver, I found this place by accident while filling up Black SUV at the Shell gas station It’s also where the Cops hang out for lunch since literally across from the Police Station and safe You have 2 options: Eat in the Restaurant or if you’re in a hurry order & pickup on the convenient store side ( which I always do while driving uber ) Not like the others places that have the word “ Bronx “ in their store name or a chain of stores There’s only one Carmelo’s Pizza
