My Concern About Patient and Resident Care After witnessing how a friend of mine was treated, I would not feel comfortable having one of my family members receive care at this facility. It was very upsetting and disappointing. Residents and patients deserve to be spoken to with respect, dignity, and patience. They should never be made to feel like they are a burden for asking about their medication or care. Telling someone, “I don't have time,” especially with an attitude, is unacceptable when that person is depending on you for their health and well-being. I understand that nurses and healthcare workers can be extremely busy, but patients should still be treated professionally. Getting frustrated, speaking harshly, knocking a resident's belongings around, or becoming disrespectful toward residents or their families should never be acceptable. Not every nurse or staff member at this facility should be judged by the actions of others, because I know there are healthcare professionals who truly care about their patients. However, the behavior of some employees can make the entire facility look bad. Please remember why you are there: to care for people who are depending on you. Every resident deserves to feel safe, comfortable, respected, and cared for. You never know who may be observing how you treat someone when you think no one is watching. I hope management takes concerns like these seriously and makes sure residents are receiving the compassionate and professional care they deserve.

My husband was discharged in May from Baptist Hospital following a brain bleed where he received excellent care. North Florida Rehabilitation Hospital was recommended to us. Although the tour had not been scheduled, we happened to meet the CEO as she was leaving, she graciously turned around and took the time to show us the hospital. From our first visit, we were impressed by the staff, nurses, and environment services team. My husband spent about two weeks there. Everyone was kind and understanding of his condition. I am grateful for the great care he received.

I am so incredibly thankful that my parents' neighbor referred us to North Florida Rehab Hospital. From the very start, Olivia was absolutely wonderful—she communicated beautifully and moved mountains to get both of my parents into the facility extremely quickly right when they needed it most this year. Every single nurse, staff member, and therapist has been so sweet, caring, and attentive to them. This facility has been an invaluable resource in helping both my parents on their recovery journeys. I cannot recommend them enough!

Lorraine Prevalon is beyond amazing!! I made an attempt to get my brother admitted to the facility. Although he wasn’t approved, she has been so supportive providing resources. She has called to check on his progress and his status of receiving the appropriate level of care. He has finally been approved for rehabilitation post-stroke after months. I’m so grateful to her for her unwavering support.
