A big thank you to Dr. Patrick Brooks at JOI Beaches Orthopaedic Institute! 👍🏼 He is incredibly professional, kind, and patient, demonstrating real care for my well-being. Dr. Brooks is highly expert and dedicated additional time to address all my inquiries. I also want to recognize his M.A., Lauren; they both possess an excellent bedside manner that truly built my confidence and made me feel comfortable. The office is spotless, with visible infection control protocols. Additionally, the reception team is consistently welcoming and supportive. 👍

Subject: Request for Review of Orthopedic Care Provided by Dr. Graham To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to request a formal review of the care I received from Dr. Graham during my recent appointment 06/12/26 for a newly diagnosed spiral fracture of the third metacarpal. At the time of the visit, I was wearing a temporary splint placed by urgent care and was experiencing pain and swelling. I informed Dr. Graham that I did not feel the splint was fitting properly and asked for guidance regarding appropriate immobilization. I was told that the splint “looked fine.” When I expressed continued concern, I was advised to purchase a brace from Amazon take otc Tylenol and to work on making a fist so that my hand would not become stiff. I was not provided with a specific recommendation regarding the type of brace that should be used, nor was I given detailed instructions regarding activity restrictions or warning signs to monitor. Most concerning, I was instructed to return in four months. I specifically asked whether the intended follow-up interval was four weeks, and I was informed that it was indeed four months. A four-month follow-up appointment was subsequently scheduled. As a healthcare professional myself, I understand the importance of preventing stiffness and promoting recovery. However, I left the appointment feeling dismissed and without clear guidance regarding the management of an acute fracture. My concerns were not adequately addressed, and I remain troubled by the absence of earlier follow-up or imaging to evaluate healing and alignment. I respectfully request that this encounter be reviewed and that I be provided with clarification regarding the rationale for the treatment plan and follow-up interval. My purpose in submitting this concern is to advocate for clear communication, appropriate patient education, and high-quality care for all patients. Sincerely, Lakeisha Simmons, RN
