Everyone here is incredibly kind, caring, and understanding. My son has been coming here for about 1.5 years and has made great speech progress while also feeling supported every step of the way. We are so grateful and highly recommend.
We loved Great Strides! Worked with Laurel to help my son with his speech, very grateful for all the help and support getting him talking!🙏🏽
My son who was diagnosed with level 2 autism and nonverbal started at Great Strides just before his 3rd birthday for speech at the St. Augustine location. Since then he has moved into ABA and OT along with Speech. He is now almost 5 and is no longer non verbal, his behaviors have improved tremendously and he’s becoming more and more self sufficient every day. His success is my success which I owe it all to the wonderful staff and community at Great Strides in St. Augustine. We would be lost without them.
Excellent Staff at Tree Blvd location. We felt well cared for. The staff work as a team to meet our needs. Recommend if you need one location for OT, PT, Music therapy and more. They were flexible with our schedule. They focused on therapy plan work best for us. We worked with Noelle for OT, Sydne for PT, and Kallie for Music Therapy. The facility was clean and secure. The coordinator/Speech Pathologist, Laurel, checked in with us to make sure we were doing fine with our therapy needs. They are on time and patient. We love this facility. Really recommend it if you are look for somewhere to start. We had been going there 4mths now. By the way the wait list is worth it! Ita hard to get into any therapy these days. There waiy list is reasonable considering.
: Crucial Need for Expertise and Responsiveness I am deeply disheartened to share our family's experience with Great Strides Rehabilitation. We were referred here by our pediatrician for my daughter's unique and challenging medical condition, which includes infantile spasms and significant developmental delays. Upon arrival, our hope was that we’d find understanding and skilled professionals capable of handling such rare and complex needs. Unfortunately, the therapist assigned to us lacked familiarity with her condition and had not previously worked with a child presenting similar symptoms. As a parent, the most distressing aspect was the therapist's apparent lack of initiative to research or reach a deeper understanding of my daughter's condition. This led to a series of misguided exercises that I feared could exacerbate her symptoms rather than provide relief or progress. Our experience was compounded by the center's lack of communication. Repeated attempts to reach out for guidance and support often went unanswered. There was an unnerving lack of follow-up, with calls rarely returned, leaving us feeling isolated and unsupported in our journey. Feedback is a gift, and my sincere hope is that Great Strides Rehabilitation takes this as an opportunity to reconsider their approach to care. It is imperative to ensure that therapists are not only well-versed in a wide range of conditions but are also proactive in educating themselves about the rarities that come through their doors. Children, like my daughter, deserve to work with specialists who can provide tailored and informed care without risking further harm. Additionally, improving communication channels and responsiveness would vastly increase trust and comfort for families who are already managing considerable stress. Knowing you can easily reach out and actually receive a timely response is a basic expectation of any healthcare service. We've since moved on to a facility with specialists who are both knowledgeable about my daughter's condition and accessible when needed; the difference in care is night and day. To any parent with a child who has specialised medical complexities, I advise thorough research and seeking out patient testimonials before committing to any healthcare facility. Your child deserves the best possible care, and unfortunately, based on our experience, Great Strides Rehabilitation currently falls short of that standard.
