How much does a wedding venue cost in St. Augustine?

Venue rental alone in St. Augustine typically runs 4,000 to 12,000 dollars for a Saturday in peak season in 2026, with historic landmark ballrooms and oceanfront clubs going higher. All-inclusive packages that bundle food, bar, and coordination for 100 guests commonly land between 18,000 and 40,000 dollars. Friday, Sunday, and summer dates can cut the venue fee by 20 to 40 percent.

What are the most popular types of wedding venues in St. Johns County?

Historic courtyards and ballrooms downtown, oceanfront and beach clubs in Ponte Vedra and on Anastasia Island, golf clubhouses at World Golf Village and in Palencia and Nocatee, and farms and barns around Elkton and Hastings. Waterfront spots along the Intracoastal and the St. Johns River near Julington Creek round it out. Each has a different vibe, parking story, and price.

When is wedding season in St. Augustine?

October through early May is peak, with March, April, October, and November the busiest months. Those are the dry, mild months and the ones that book a year or more out. June through September is slower and cheaper, but you plan around heat and afternoon storms. Nights of Lights in late November through January adds crowds and parking pressure downtown.

Can I get married on the beach in St. Augustine or Ponte Vedra?

Yes. Beach ceremonies happen all the time at St. Augustine Beach, Crescent Beach, Vilano, and Ponte Vedra. Public beaches in St. Johns County may require a permit for a ceremony with chairs, arches, or more than a small group, and rules differ between county beaches, the City of St. Augustine Beach, and state parks. Ask the office that manages that stretch of sand before booking vendors.

What is a good venue for a corporate event or retreat near St. Augustine?

Companies tend to use the resort hotels and conference space at World Golf Village, the oceanfront resorts and clubs in Ponte Vedra Beach, and the larger historic hotels downtown for dinners and award nights. Smaller teams rent private dining rooms, breweries, and waterfront restaurants. Most offer day-rate meeting packages that include AV and lunch for 75 to 150 dollars per person.

Do venues require a specific caterer or bar service?

Many do. Hotels, golf clubs, and some historic properties run their own kitchens and require you to use them, often with a food and beverage minimum. Others have a short list of approved caterers who know the space. A few, especially farms and private estates, let you bring anyone licensed and insured. Ask early because it changes your total budget.

Event Venues in Fernandina Beach & Amelia Island

Event venues in Fernandina Beach & Amelia Island range from private rooms at restaurants to full-service wedding properties, and most of them are booked months ahead for weekend dates in the cooler half of the year. When you look at venues in and around Fernandina Beach & Amelia Island, ask what is included in the rental fee, whether you must use their caterer and bar, how parking works for your guests, and what the rain and hurricane policy says. A site visit at the time of day your event will happen tells you more than any photo.

How to choose a event venue in Fernandina Beach & Amelia Island

Start with the guest count and the date

Capacity is the first filter. Many of the prettiest downtown St. Augustine courtyards hold 75 to 120 people, and the big ballrooms and golf clubhouses handle 200 or more. A Saturday in March or October is the hardest date in the county to get, so decide whether a Friday, Sunday, or summer date buys you the venue you want.

Find out what the rental fee actually covers

Some venues include tables, chairs, linens, setup, and a coordinator. Others hand you an empty room and a list of required vendors. Ask whether in-house catering and bar are mandatory, which is common at hotels and clubs. A low rental fee with required catering minimums can cost more than an all-inclusive package.

Think about guests, parking, and the walk

Downtown St. Augustine parking is scarce, especially during Nights of Lights and festival weekends. Ask whether the venue has a lot, a garage deal, or shuttle options. Beach venues can mean sand and heat for older guests. Ponte Vedra and World Golf Village venues are easier to reach from I-95 and the Jacksonville airport.

Get the weather plan in writing

Afternoon storms from June through September and hurricane season through November are facts of life here. Ask when the indoor-or-outdoor call is made, whether a tent is available and who pays, and what happens to your deposit if a named storm or evacuation order cancels the event.

Ask about noise, end times, and neighbors

Historic district venues sit next to homes and inns, and the city enforces noise limits. Many require amplified music to stop by 10 or 11 p.m. Private estates and barns outside the city may have more flexibility but also their own county rules. Confirm the end time, breakdown window, and overtime rate.
