The spa has a relaxing atmosphere, and everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the services didn’t meet our expectations. My aunt and I both booked deep tissue massages because we were experiencing muscle soreness, but neither of us received the level of pressure typically associated with a deep tissue massage. I came in with shoulder pain and left feeling about the same, and my aunt had a similar experience with her back. I also added the body scrub and shower package for an additional $60 for the two of us. While the scrub itself felt nice, it was very brief, lasting only about five minutes, and I expected a more thorough treatment for the additional cost. My hope is that this feedback is helpful. It may be beneficial to better assess each client’s preferred pressure before beginning the massage and to provide more detail about what guests can expect from the body scrub service. I truly wanted to love this experience, especially since I brought my aunt for a relaxing day together, but unfortunately we both left without the relief we were hoping for. I wish the team the best and hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.
Received an amazing deep tissue massage from Emma! It was so good. I didn’t want her to stop and she offered me 30 extra minutes that I couldn’t pass up! Hot stones are free which is so great! Will definitely be returning for more massages by Emma
DETAILED REVIEW: Overall, the massage experience was disappointing. One therapist seemed disengaged and mediocre, while the other gave a better massage but worked far too aggressively and rushed despite being asked to slow down. Being slapped on the arm or leg to reposition was disrespectful and unprofessional. The visit started with confusion about the appointment time after multiple calls and texts asking us to arrive earlier. Upon arrival, we were told card payments had to be made before the massage, even though another customer had just paid afterward. The explanation kept changing, which felt suspicious. Both therapists talked throughout the sessions, entered the room before we had finished undressing, and made comments about our bodies and skin that felt awkward and inappropriate. We requested one Deep Tissue massage ($80) and one Swedish massage ($70), but were charged $160 because they claimed the Swedish massage became Deep Tissue, despite our request being clarified beforehand. We were also told card payments required a $3 fee, yet were charged $6. After declining to leave a tip, we felt rushed out the door. The entire experience felt more focused on money than customer service. As paying customers, we expect professionalism, respect, and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, this visit did not provide that.
Emma was amazing! Will definitely be back when I have the time. Felt like a new woman walking out of Zazen. She was super sweet and listened to my needs.
