St Johns County Animal Control

We dropped a cat that we had found off to be rescued and have been looking at website to see if she was featured, but haven't seen anything. Person at front desk told me I would not be able to check on her. We spent most of a day with this very friendly calico who had a collar and appeared to be a lost pet and developed a connection with her and would just like to know if she is OK.

Took about a year for them to finally get in contact let alone actually come rescue the multiple dogs that was on a property being completely neglected by the owners. Several months of photos and videos for proof, several calls and emails. Dogs that were being left outside in the 30 degree weather we had this winter. Super upsetting. Glad they finally rescued the dogs but they’re horrible.

I wish I could do less than a one star. All 3 of our dogs are chipped and BEYOND well cared for. Honestly I think they live a "royal" life. We have over 1 acre of land and have a PRIVACY FENCE with an electronic gate. This week animal control has been scouting all around our neighborhood I see then while at the bustop with my little girl. Today they sat outside our house for 10 minutes... when we had someone leaving the property in a vehicle one of our dogs circled the vehicle and came back in the gate as we were standing at the gate. This meant if accurate the dog literally walked 2' onto the road and back onto our property. This ...employee called then texted a threat that they witnessed a "violation". When I inquired about said violation they informed me they should write a violation but are "doing me a favor". Threats are not a favor. Our dogs are well cared for. Are not free to roam the neighborhood and have never once had a complaint. The stalking nature in the neighborhood and the "gotcha" mentality is absurd to say the least. I appreciate the work that animal control does however the goal of "catching" dogs literally stepping off the driveway prior to stepping back on is a bit ridiculous. I would hope that animal control has more serious issues to deal with than dogs that know where their home is , are secured and not an issue to the community. Truly makes one wonder if the gentleman just simply needed to flex.

I had an unfortunate incident with a neighbors dog that resulted in a minor injury. I contacted the St Johns animal control agency and I was very happy with the interactions from the agent answering phones and the response from the animal control officer that called within 2 hours of me reporting the incident. Very professional and courteous. Thank you
