As someone who enjoys visiting thrift stores while traveling(especially those that support animal welfare causes)I was excited to stop by this shop. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The store had more of a "dig-through" atmosphere than I expected, and much of the shopping area was quite hot due to limited air conditioning. While browsing, I found several books and believed they were priced according to the posted signage for hardbacks and paperbacks. However, I later learned that those prices only applied to certain color-coded tags, which I overlooked. At checkout, the interaction became uncomfortable. I was questioned about where I had found one of the books, and the staff carefully examined it before assigning a significantly higher price than I expected. A used book I intended to purchase for reading was suddenly priced at $4, and the prices on my other selections were increased as well. I understand the importance of accurate pricing, but the way the situation was handled left me feeling more like I was being suspected of wrongdoing than assisted as a customer. Between the confusing pricing, uncomfortable checkout experience, and the heat inside the store, I ultimately decided to leave without making a purchase. I appreciate the mission of supporting animals, but improvements in pricing clarity, customer service, and shopping conditions would greatly enhance the overall experience.
Prices were decent and good selection of different items. Some items were priced high and some were very low. I picked up some brown leather heels $2.50, and a couple tops and a bag for almost $10. Wish they marked down items they had for a while, since some items were from February. But worth looking through in the heat and will be returning!
Closing down my construction business and arriving at the donation area with a van load of contractor tools to donate. All professional tools in working condition. They would only accept the very best few items and said they were not interested in anything else. She would barely pick up any of the items and could not be bothered with the process. We drove to Betty Griffin and they took everything and were extremely thankful for our generous donation. Maybe this was a volunteer, but they lost valuable donations and we will not return. Do better!
One of the best organized thrift stores I've been in. When we travel, we always visit local thrift stores that give back to their community, and this is one we really liked. The majority of the goods are in a back warehouse-sized area, easy to get around. We were here on a gorgeous, dry spring day with low humidity so being in the back area was very comfortable. It might be a little toasty on a hot summer day, but still worth the time to browse.
Well-run thrift store serving a variety of community needs. Reasonable prices across the board. Lots of variety. Goes a step further than many thrift stores, proving free food and vouchers for homeless population in the area. Entire operation run by volunteers giving back to the community.
