My wife and I enjoyed Seafood Kitchen very much today. She started off with a red Sangria and clam stew. I had the New England Clam Chowder, of course, and ice water. My wife ordered two Flounder, lightly fried, with sweet potato and cole slaw. I chose the fried shrimp with the baked potato and applesauce. The second Flounder is going home with us for her son. This was a perfect way to enjoy the afternoon at the beach. My wife liked the way they cooked the fish. Oh when we thought we were going, the server mentioned she had beignets, my wife and I decided to have dessert. The beignets didn't come like we were expecting - like at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans.
Awesome. We drove 5 hours to eat here. Liz is the best server. We search out family owned long time restaurants and this place nailed it. The blackened triggerfish is epic. Seafood combo. Perfect. Don’t skip this place. Go out of your way to enjoy the best meal ever.
I’ve been occasionally eating here for over 25 years-use to be great food, great taste and reasonable portions. Today the complete opposite on my takeout order of 3 flounder lunches for $61. Complaint to manager and they said my portions were correct. I didn’t received my coleslaw on any of the orders and I took pictures immediately when I opened the boxes to prove it, and none in the bag as they stated. Finally they gave me store credit-no thanks.
The seafood was really good. The drinks were served in small foam cups with lids that were annoying because they ran out constantly and the server couldn't see the contents to refill them. The seafood was great but there wasn't any flavoring whatsoever in the seasoning. I literally had to salt all of the fried food. The service was great and friendly. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table and overall I think it was worth it.
Let me start with the 2 stars is not because the food wasn’t good. 1. They sent one of our sides (coleslaw) out with our appetizer with crackers. I was unaware that they would do this and was kinda disappointed I didn’t have it with my seafood. At first we thought it was complementary as we noticed most people had it. It was also in a 3.2oz to go container vs our other side was in non plastic 4oz containers. Was very strange. 2. The ceilings, fans and vents were enough for us to not come back. If I would have noticed them prior to eating we would have left as one was blowing on our table. They are black and are in desperate need of replacing. Not sure how they pass inspections. 3. The food was decent. Portions are huge but nothing that stands out. It’s fried seafood. 4. The waitress took forever to come to the table and we had a neat pile of “done” that she left there the entire time. It was from our appetizer and sides that came too early. Overall we won’t be coming back but if simple fried seafood is your thing then Deff give it a shot.
