This was our first time visiting the Salt Life Food Shack — and Amelia Island in general. We decided that we were going to go out to a nice restaurant on our final evening and ended up choosing this one. The September dining spotlight also helped persuade our choice as they were participating in it. First, we ordered the “Blue Beach” — it was a very smooth, rum-filled drink. The drink had a very good taste and distinguishable fruit flavors. We ended up partaking in the $45 per person dining special… it included: a choice of a salad (house or caesar), choice of soup (clam chowder or fish chowder), choice of appetizer (wings, oysters, or guacamole), and the main entree (imperial red snapper or surf n’ turf)… The girlfriend opted for a house salad, the clam chowder, blackened wings (my apologies for no pictures of the wings), and the surf n’ turf. I opted for the caesar salad, the clam chowder, the Hawaiian wings, and the surf n’ turf. The salads were a very good size for being a “side” salad, they were also very fresh. This was our first time trying clam chowder as neither of us have previously had it in our lifetimes. It was delicious. I’m glad we gave it a shot. The wings were good, a touch on the fatty side but still had very good flavor. The entree — was absolutely incredible. It was honestly one of the best meals I have ever had at ANY restaurant. The filet medallions were cooked to absolute perfection — medium like we asked for. They were very buttery with practically no chew and the lobster was the same way. The vegetables, garnish, and mashed potatoes that also came with the dish were incredible as well. It was an absolute 10 across the board. If you’re thinking of trying the Salt Life Food Shack on your visit, give it a shot! You get an incredible amount of food for the cost. All-in-all after a tip and taxes we were out of the door for $130 and had breakfast for the following morning that was just as good. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Amelia Island!

I treated my husband to dinner at Salt Life Food Shack for his birthday, and we had an outstanding experience from beginning to end! Our waitress, Sofia, was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Manager Marcos and his entire team went above and beyond to provide exceptional hospitality and customer service. They truly made us feel welcomed and valued. We started with the Lump Crab & Spinach Dip, which was absolutely delicious. For our entrées, we ordered the Wood Grilled Salmon, the Big Wave Burger, and the Beach Boil. Every dish was perfectly prepared, well-seasoned, and packed with incredible flavor. To top off the evening, the team surprised my husband with a delicious Pineapple Upside Down Cake while singing “Happy Birthday.” The dessert was absolutely amazing and was the perfect ending to a wonderful celebration. That thoughtful gesture made his birthday even more special. Thank you, Sofia, Marcos, and the entire team at Salt Life Food Shack for making my husband’s birthday so memorable. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. If you’re looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be!
Amazing restaurant. First time coming here and it was a packed restaurant and bar but the service was still superb and the food was absolutely incredible. This is the perfect beach restaurant. I had the imperial snapper and it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. I was very impressed by the smoked wings too, they are better than most dedicated wing restaurants. Very affordable place with a professional, friendly staff. Amanda was my bartender/server and every suggestion she made was perfect and she was very professional, good spirited, and a dedicated employee.
My husband and I stopped in Amelia Island on our way home from a cruise. We were told Salt Life was the place to be for food. I must say it did not disappoint. The service was exceptional. I wish I remembered our servers name because she was awesome. We had sushi as appetizers, I had the the Imperial Snapper and my husband had the Flounder Royale. My goodness the portions were plentiful and absolutely delish. I had a few Mai Tais and the best I've ever had. Fantastic atmosphere, service and food! Highly recommend
We came over for a meeting and looked for a local restaurant to eat at in the Beach, and found this place. It will not disappoint. I had the Street Tacos, and they were cooked perfectly. My wife got a bowl of Chowder, and it was great. Be aware, it’s a large bowl. The view of the Ocean was a bonus, and our server Sarah was outstanding. We will be back for sure!
