I had such a wonderful experience at The Panama Hat Company of St. Augustine! Tony has an amazing selection of hats, with just about every style you can imagine. From start to finish, he was incredibly patient, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire process. I came in with a vision of having a Freddy Krueger-inspired hat created, and Tony brought that vision to life. What I appreciated most was being able to watch the process and be involved every step of the way. He allowed me to try the hat on throughout the process, making adjustments along the way to ensure I was completely satisfied with the final look. It was raining that day, and Tony went the extra mile to protect my finished hat by carefully placing it in a plastic bag before I left. He also took the time to explain how to properly care for it, including the importance of not laying it flat because of the beautiful curve he had created. He even gave me a small plastic hat stand to help preserve its shape. Tony is not only a talented and knowledgeable hat maker, but he’s also just a really cool guy! You can tell he takes pride in his craft and genuinely cares about his customers. His staff was professional, the shop was clean and welcoming, and the entire experience was a pleasure. I love Panama Hat Company! I always stop in and get a new hat when I’m in town. They have UPF50+ hats and they will point you towards which ones are packable. It’s family owned and Tony will help you add a chin strap to any hat that you choose. That option is helpful on windy days. Highly recommend.

Yesterday I visited the store and Astrid was sooo very helpful in assisting me to find the perfect hat and fit for my upcoming El Camino Trail hike! She was super sweet and very knowledgeable :-). I sampled my new hat this morning for a practice 10 mile hike and the hat she suggested was perfect!!!

Went shopping for a genuine Panama hat, and this was a great place to go! A wide selection of all styles of hats, and a very helpful, but not intrusive staff. Highly recommend a visit!
