My son had been begging for surfing lessons while we were vacationing in St. Augustine. Since this was our first visit and we knew absolutely nothing about surfing, I was completely out of my element as a Midwest mom. From my very first phone call to Pit Surf Shop, I felt at ease. The staff member I spoke with was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to answer all of my questions. When lesson day arrived, our instructor, Auggie (Augustine), made the experience even better. He was patient, encouraging, and did a fantastic job teaching us the basics of surfing, from understanding the board to reading the waves. We had an absolute blast and left with great memories. I would highly recommend The Pit Surf Shop to anyone looking to learn to surf in St. Augustine!

The friendliest staff! Everyone was very welcoming and kind! We booked a surfing lesson for our daughter with Jacob and he was the best! Jacob was kind, friendly, and knowledgeable about surfing. Jacob made my daughter feel comfortable and confident with surfing. The owner of the Pit is very kind, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed to have a fun vacation. This place is top notch!

Found this place on Google maps, we rented surf boards for $30 each for the day, took them down to our spot at crescent beach and had a blast...although we didnt walk around the store that much it looked like a good spot to get anything you need that you might have forgot for your beach outing or if you wanted a souvenir 😉 Staff was friendly and easy to work with as well...Will use them again in the future!
