EDIT; I am completely taking back my previous. My cat passed away just one week after our visit here. While the staff initially seemed kind and the environment seemed calm, the medical care clearly did not save my baby. Do not risk your pet's life here. _________ Original post: I cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive, efficient, and incredibly kind — my cat stayed relaxed and purring the entire visit, which says everything about how calm and caring the environment is. Yes, emergency vet care isn’t cheap, but they waived the first exam fee, which I really appreciated. And the results speak for themselves — my baby was already noticeably better within 24 hours. If your pet ever needs urgent care, don’t hesitate. I’d absolutely come back.
My 10 year old lab suddenly injured (what I thought) was his hip on a Friday evening and we we're able to get an appointment set for Saturday afternoon - even as a first time client. All of the staff we interacted with were super kind and helpful and Dr. Gillen was amazing. Very knowledgeable and communicative! We were able to get everything to help my boy's back feel better within less than 24 hours of the initial signs of a problem and for a reasonable price. 10 out of 10 would recommend this clinic to anyone! 🐾
I've been here a few times and I absolutely LOVE this place. I've never had any issues. I never wait long , probably about 10 minutes before seeing the doctor. After seeing the doctor it was quick straight to the point , very informative, helpful and understanding! Also, VERY affordable! Worth every penny !
This is the most caring, considerate, polite, and understanding group of professionals I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Our sweet Roxy passed away recently. OPAC was there for us right after she was hurt. Poor girl had arthritis, bad knees, skin issues, and a hurt leg. We had her for eleven terrific years. A tear is swelling up as I write this even. Roxy was the best, she would always warn us of intruders daring to walk on her sidewalk outside. She made sure we knew leftovers were for her. She was always ready for a pet and a hug. She got us up for walks, was great in the woods, just an overall great dog! When the time came to make the decision, OPAC was ready with understanding, tissues, and patience. They were able to make Roxy and my daughter very comfortable. They gave us all the time we needed, before and after. The most amazing thing though, was the thoughtful and considerate condolence card we got a few days later. The staff actually signed it. this was not a fake computer generated anything. This was the real deal! They took time to say kind words. We cried again reading it. :-) These people will give you the best value, the most caring and considerate of any Veterinarian clinic I have ever been to. If you live in Oakleaf, this is your new vet! They are there for you from puppies to seniors! We love them.
At first when my husband found this place, I was happy. We had relocated to this area in 2024. The vet seemed really nice & caring. Both our dogs went for check ups & their yearly shots. One of our dogs went for emergency care about a year ago, and we were happy with outcome. But recently our dog became really sick & had to be put down. I did so much reading in the last couple weeks, and the more I read, the madder I was getting. About 15 months ago, I noticed my house had a distinct awful odor. It was from the dogs. But now that one is no longer with us, my house no longer has that odor. Our dog was diagnosed with cancer & by the time she was diagnosed, she was put down in a week. I read so much, my head hurts, and my heart hurts watching my dog in her last week. Her back legs were done. She had problems walking, even getting up. They would NOT prescribe her pain meds the day she was seen. She would fall coming back in the house. She couldn't walk on the bare floors without falling. I had to put throw rugs down so she wouldn't fall. She was taken to the hospital & test were done. Results were devastating, cancer throughout her lymph nodes, including her back legs. A stomach full of fluid & tumor. A huge chest tumor. We called the vet & he still didn't want to give pain meds. I spoke up & expained how bad it was & finally got her pain meds. My guess is she had cancer for at least a year, including a sore that this office has seen and the distinct strong ordor she has had for over a year. They missed it, and that is so upsetting.
