Avondale Animal Hospital

We cannot recommend this vet enough. They were truly incredible to our two dogs and to our family. From the smallest question to a true emergency, they were always there. They always answered the phone, always took our concerns seriously, and consistently treated our dogs with so much kindness and care. One of our dogs even needed emergency surgery after jumping through a window. Dr. November and his team were absolutely incredible with my boy and did an amazing job taking care of him — but what I’ll never forget is how they took care of me, too. I was completely beside myself, and they not only helped get me cleaned up, but they calmed me down, reassured me, and made an incredibly scary situation feel a little less terrifying. That level of care is rare. They genuinely care about their patients and the people who love them. When we moved away from Jacksonville, we knew this was one of the things we would miss the most. And we were right. We’ve moved on to a new chapter, but we still talk about how much we miss this vet. There is truly no one better. If you’re looking for a vet who will love your animals, be there when you need them, and care about you just as much — this is the place.

Dr. November and his team are exceptional. They quickly identified and diagnosed my cat’s condition after only a couple of visits, something my previous vet was unable to determine for an entire year. They clearly explained treatment options, established an effective monitoring and medication plan, and even helped us find a reasonably priced solution. The entire staff is kind, empathetic, and consistently supportive. Thanks to their care, I get to enjoy more healthy, happy years with my senior cat!

Lilith ‘Lily’ Beyonce Kim passed away on 07/02/2025. It hurts so much but I had to update my review. From the previous update, till her passing, Dr. Antar and the staff was nothing but kind and amazing. They handled me mourning her passing with such understanding and compassion. Wonderful and amazing vet office. 5/22/25 I wish I could give a separate 5 star review for every time we come in. Which is a lot because Lily. Lilith Beyoncé Kim aka Lily is now 15. She will be 16 in July and that’s really all thanks to Avondale Animal Hospital. The staff is wonderful. Dr. Antar is wonderful. They always explain every option and why it would or would not be beneficial. I never leave the office confused or feeling like I was bamboozled. I love my cat so much and they have given me more time with her. Thank you all. Original Review: I made Lily a check up appointment because she is technically elderly. She’s 13, grumpy and can be a nightmare to deal with when it comes to vet appointments. The whole staff was wonderful. I don’t think Lily bit or scratched a single person. Which is shocking. Dr. Antar is probably the sweetest and most patient vet Lily has ever been to. I highly recommend taking your furbabies to this office. The staff and Dr. Antar are amazing. 2/6/24 update: Avondale Animal Hospital is still our go to. Lilith Beyonce had a medical emergency and I freaked out. They got me in ASAP. They never treat Lily like she is, “just a cat.” They treat her like the queen baby she is and they never discount my concerns (even when I may be overreacting). *the photo does not portray her feelings about going to the vet. She’s just always grumpy.

I am new to the area and was nervous about finding a new vet, and AAH exceeded my expectations in every way! I first brought my husky in with an upset tummy and they were so great and helped put me at ease (without costing me a fortune). The staff here was very kind and also very helpful with fitting me in for a last minute appointment. They were very upfront with their pricing and are probably the least expensive vet I have ever been to. They did not push any unnecessary tests on me and while they validated my concerns, they also took a more reserved approach to upfront treatment, rather than suggested a ton of expensive tests just because. My next visit here I brought my 9yo small dog who is suffers from really bad anxiety and has a history of anxiety-induced seizures. It makes it VERY difficult to manage her health when sometimes simply going to the vet can spark a seizure so I am extremely apprehensive about when and where to bring her. When I called and told them about her they again fit me in very last minute and were understanding when I explained her eccentricities. When I got there, despite being out directly into a room she immediately was NOT okay, and I was worried she would have a seizure. The staff was 100% ON IT and suggested I take her outside in their backyard and wait there instead in case that helped calm her. It did and then to my complete shock, they came out and suggested they just do the entire visit outside instead since she seemed more relaxed there. I was so impressed with the way they not only listened to me; but also trusted and valued my input with how to care for my dog. It’s very rare to find a vet so willing to listen and cater their care specifically to your pets needs without any semblance of judgement or rolling of eyes. I am fully aware that my dog can be ALOT and without knowing her full medical background I can seem like ALOT and very overbearing so I am used to being pushy and having to fight to advocate for my pet. That need was non existent here, and I wish more vets + their staff were as compassionate as everyone I met here at Avondale Animal Hospital. I would (and have) recommended this vet to anyone! I could go on and on and on (and also have to anyone who’d listen) about how impressed I was with how they managed my small dog and I during that visit. This vet truly seems like a hidden gem and I am so so lucky to have found them. I can sleep easier knowing I have them close by. To the staff at AAH: THANKYOU a million times over! You’re kindness and compassion are unmatched!
