Our elderly Doberman Troy recently crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully at home, very early in the morning. Outside of immense grief, one of the first things I started to feel was panic. I had no idea what to do in this situation because although Troy was elderly, he was still very much "himself", so we hadn't looked into what we would need to do if this happened. In between grief, shock and panic, I just plain did a Google search to find out what we needed to do. After our experience with Compassionate Care Pet Cremation on Rogero, I don't think I've ever been more happy with Google search results. I called, left a message and received a call back from Jessica within a few minutes. Jessica was very nice but also straightforward with the information I needed. What she does has to be difficult on several levels but it's clear to me that she's found a nice balance of caring while still needing to take care of the business side of it. Doberman's are a big breed and even though our Troy had lost weight, I still wasn't going to be able to handle him on my own. Jessica explained that they could have someone come to the house to assist with him and bring him to their facility. There's a fee for that but that's expected. Jessica arranged for someone to come to our home within 1 hour from the first time I spoke to her. I didn't get the name of the gentleman who came to our home but he was also very nice. Like Jessica, I'm sure what he does has to be difficult but it's still a "job", so it has to be hard to balance. He was kind to us, helped me with our guy Troy and most importantly, sincerely said "I am very sorry for your loss" to my visibly grieving wife before he left with our guy. I spoke to Jessica again afterwards and she explained that we would be able to pick our guy up as soon as the next day. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went in but it went smoothly. We received the same nice things (cards, etc) that you can see in other reviews. We also received a packet with some of Troy's fur in it. I wasn't expecting that last part but it strikes me as so kind and it really means a lot to both myself and Troy's mom. The only photo I'm including with this review is of Troy, his mom, me and his sister from a few years ago. Troy is being grieved heavily by the three of us in the photo but I cannot stress enough how helpful Compassionate Care Pet Cremation has been in the process. No one wants to deal with this. Ever. We all have to though and the last thing you want to deal with is rude, uncaring people or ANY sort of hassle. I didn't experience any of that from the first phone call until pick up. I am very thankful for that they are the first call I made that day and the only call I needed to make.
I cannot thank Steven and family enough. During the most difficult time Steven took my phone calls 2 weeks prior, answered all my questions and was there to pick up my boy as soon on the day he passed over to Rainbow Bridge. During this incredibly difficult time he didn’t make any part of it more difficult, it truly felt personal. As opposed to using the vets cremation services I chose Compassionate Care and I am so glad I did. Steven was there as I left the vet, but I didn’t know it was him. When I picked up my boy, which is such an emotional moment, the place is calming, you immediately walk into heaven for a brief moment even as you are falling apart, with the sights, the scents, the calming music and the calming presence inside Compassionate Care. They even have kitties there. It was so peaceful. I recommend Compassionate Care to anyone who is losing their beloved pet.
Edit: Stephen reached out immediately and even delievered a new urn and engraved Joey's name. Phenomenal service. I hope I won't need to come back anytime soon but I know who to come to in the future. Thank you so so much. My beloved childhood 18 year old dog passed away Friday night and Stephen and his son were very kind & compassionate through the process. Stephen went above and beyond delivering my sweet baby to me the next day. And even gave me some of his fur which I had forgot to ask for. So happy to have Joey back home. I am a little bummed Joey's urn has a crack down the middle but maybe I can try to fix it, as I am not sure of the warranty and it was my fault for not looking at it until I was home. They do have a beautiful selection of urns. Thank you so much Compassionate Care!
During a devastating time, Compassionate Care Pet Cremation was the best place to be. Russell was so kind and caring with us and our sweet girl Minerva. We got her ashes back the very next day. This business truly cares so much! We loved visiting with the cats in the lobby. I wish losing a pet on no one, but when it happens, this is the place to come.
I can’t thank the family at Compassionate Care enough for how they took care of us and our sweet boy, Shadow. From the moment I made that difficult call, they were ready and waiting for us, and they always picked up the phone right away whenever I had questions. They were so kind and gentle with Shadow—you can tell they really love what they do. The space itself is so calming and homey, and they gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye without rushing us. That meant so much. They also had a really nice selection of urns at different price points, which I appreciated. One thing I’d suggest is just making sure you let them know if you’d like your pet cremated with anything special. We brought Shadow in with his favorite blanket, and they respectfully cremated him with it, which brought us so much comfort. We got Shadow back the very next day, which was such a relief—I was expecting it to take longer. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for better care. I’d recommend Compassionate Care to anyone going through the loss of their beloved pet. They really do make such a heartbreaking time just a little bit easier
