I had been planning my birthday trip for months to St. Augustine, and the one thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to eat here at OC Whites. After seeing all the videos I’ve come across on IG, I was honestly expecting a great experience. Unfortunately, I was highly disappointed. Atmosphere: 10/10 — until you’re seated. I waited 15 minutes just to be acknowledged. A simple “I’ll be right with you” would have made a huge difference. My server walked past me several times without making eye contact or acknowledging me at all. Then, when the table in front of me left and another person was seated, she immediately went over to assist them. WTH?! 😩 I finally raised my hand to get someone’s attention, and she said, “Oh, I didn’t see you.” Sydney… do better, girl. I definitely stood out 🙋🏿♀️ And once the manager came over to check if everything was okay, your service definitely stepped up. 🤔 Almost like you weren’t sure what I was going to say. As for the food, the shrimp and grits were mediocre. Nothing memorable or worth the hype for me. Honestly, the only real positives were the atmosphere and the very nice parking lot attendant, who was friendly and welcoming. I really wanted to love this place, especially for my birthday, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the expectations created by all those IG videos.

I had the clam chowder and a sweet thai chili salmon dish. Everything was great. I had a glass of white wine. The outside patio is lit up and beautiful and calm. Nice spot for solo dining. I also saw that it was dog friendly.
The food, atmosphere and service is stellar. The fact that you get to dine in a building that is over 200 years old, add to the fact that not only do you experience history, but you get to eat historically great food. The very first time I ate in this restaurant was well over a decade ago. The service, food and experience was as good if not better, and has been every time since. Surrounded by coquina stone as you dine, freshly prepared fish, like grouper and mahi, crabcakes, lobster and so much more make this place a must visit. They have an outdoor patio, although because of the size of our party, we opted for upstairs with views beyond. There's also live music just about every single day. A reservation wasn't necessary for the evening we went, but giving them a heads up allow them to set up the space for us. When we arrived, a bit early, our table is ready less than five minutes later. Megan, who took the initial reservation, was our server and was everywhere all at once. She is an absolute joy and tremendous asset to the operation. It doesn't surprise me that OC Whites can attract the best and brightest. Just south of the Bridge of Lions and on the Matanzas River, this place checks all the boxes. Worth the visit every single time I am in town, the kind of restaurant that makes you want to move to the area.
Was once my favorite, always classy, fine dining, perfection. Been away for 8 years, took a trip a couple nights ago solely to have dinner and was disgusted. Nothing was good and staff doesn't care. One example, what decent restaurant has employees rolling silverware in the main dining area and allows them to be eating while doing so? Another, fine dining condiments shouldn't come tableside in their plastic damn bottles nor should trays full of them be setting right outside the front door. Smh. But hey, don't take my word for it, go see and taste for yourself. You'd probably find better quality down the way like Long John Silvers.
I loved the outside sesting area! Very nice that you can sit inside as well. The servers were very nice but they seemed understaffed or something because the service was slow and the staff seemed rushed. I will say the fish and rice were a bit undercooked but still delicious I ate everything 😋
