Went to dj‘s clam shack in Saint Augustine, Florida. First day: lobster roll (warm), clam chowder and fries. The food was excellent. I went back the following day with my wife and this time I had a cold lobster, fried softshell crab, clam chowder again and clams in garlic butter. All of the food on both days I give it a 10 out of 10 everything was cooked fresh hot or cold. Definitely would return when I have a taste for lobster rolls. Met one of the owner/manager‘s Caleb really nice guy extremely helpful and I told him I can’t wait to come back.

A really enjoyable spot, especially if you catch it on a good day. We visited on a Sunday and were treated to live music on a shaded patio, which was a perfect escape on a hot afternoon. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip. The food delivered too. The lobster roll at $28 gives you pause, but it earns its price tag and is genuinely worth it. The fried shrimp basket was also a winner, with delicious shrimp as the highlight. Skip the fries and go for the onion rings instead. Not a destination we'd drive across town for, but absolutely one we'd return to if we were in the area. A great option when the weather and the music align.
Fun casual place for your favorite “po boy” or lobster roll. Portions are generous. I’m not a big fan of the po boys or lobster rolls but my oyster po boy was quite good. The clam chowder was very nice, with a lot of potatoes and pepper. Tacos were also tasty. If you want a lobster roll, hang on to your wallet….. market prices are ridiculous. Plan to walk a few blocks from a parking spot.
If you’re visiting St. Augustine and looking for fresh seafood in a casual, laid-back setting, DJ’s Clam Shack is definitely worth a stop. From the moment you arrive, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax after exploring the city’s historic streets. The menu is packed with seafood favorites, including lobster rolls, fish tacos, shrimp baskets, conch fritters, and their famous clam chowder. Everything is prepared fresh, with generous portions and authentic coastal flavors. If it’s your first visit, don’t miss the coconut fried shrimp—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and one of the standout dishes on the menu. Having visited both the Key West and St. Augustine locations, it’s great to see the same commitment to fresh seafood, quality, and consistency. It’s always nice to discover a local favorite that delivers an excellent experience no matter which location you visit. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, DJ’s Clam Shack offers delicious seafood, a relaxed atmosphere, and a dining experience that’s well worth adding to your St. Augustine itinerary.
I was in St Augustine for a couple days andthe first day I decided to get a lobster roll and eat it in the upstairs dining area. The lobster roll was great , good portion for the price, considering the area. The atmosphere was nice and the place was pretty clean, so the next day I went back and I got the lobster salad and again, pretty good portion for the price. They use a key lime vinaigrette dressing that is SOOO good !!! I DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE for a good lobster roll or salad! DEFINITELY THE BEST VALUE IN TOWN FOR LOBSTER ROLLS!!! 🦞🦞🦞🤑🤑🤑
