Northside Animal Hospital

I am very disappointed with my recent experience at Northside Animal Hospital. My family has trusted this practice with our cats and dog for years, but the quality of communication has significantly declined since the change in providers. My cat was hospitalized for five days due to serious medical complications. During our initial appointment, the doctor took the time to thoroughly explain the diagnosis and treatment plan, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the communication ended there. Over the course of my cat's five-day stay, I received only one proactive update call on the first night. After that, I had to call multiple times each day just to receive basic updates on his condition. The information I received often varied depending on which staff member I spoke with, leaving me confused and uncertain about my pet's status. Each time I called, I was assured that someone would return my call by the end of the day. Those calls never came. Despite my repeated attempts to communicate, I was unable to speak directly with the doctor until the fifth day of my cat's hospitalization. I have no doubt that my cat was well cared for by the veterinary staff, and I am grateful for the kindness and support shown by Kelly at the front desk. She was one of the few team members who consistently tried to help and provide information during a very stressful time. While I understand that veterinary practices can be busy, clear and consistent communication is essential when a beloved pet is critically ill and hospitalized. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of communication, urgency, follow-through, and overall organization displayed throughout this experience. As a long-time client, I expected a much higher standard of customer service and communication. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to reconsider where I seek veterinary care in the future.

Warning ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ I went to this place because my dog had ear pain. The vet who treated my dog was pretty much focused on making all kinds of money for fancy shampoos, lotions and other things and the bill was 1200$ She claimed my dogs ear infection isn’t bad , gave him a cortisone shot and send us home with everything other than what we really needed.I got home and googled the antibiotics she gave us which was for his skin and not even his ear. The next day my dogs face became extremely swollen and he was in severe pain. couldn’t drink, eat, move, absolutely nothing. I went to them again and in this time another older man treated him.He didn’t bond with my dog, pushed his mouth open and my dog cried in pain then pushed on the swelling and told me this is a tumor.I asked are you sure …what else could it be?He said the only other thing it could be would be a bone infection.They wanted me to pay another 800$ for a sample and told me like how old he is and it might be time to let him go(He is 10) and told me how this vet does his job since so long if he says it’s cancer than this is what this is. I was a mess, crying for 24/7. I googled which antibiotics actually would help for an ear/tooth infection which I originally went there for and called them and asked if they could give me these antibiotics and pain killers at least( sad that they never did on their own or even had the idea to help him with the pain) I went there to pick it up and my dog got rapidly better day by day. He was eating and drinking and playing again however the swelling stayed. I consulted another completely different clinic who did a senior blood test and an X-ray and guess what…all he had was an ear infection and the shot this first vet gave him made it 20 times worse. It’s been weeks and the swelling still isn’t completely gone. Hes still treated by the new vet. These people made by dog sick!!!They never cared or treated him properly and caused him so much pain and suffering and then even put in my head that he needs to be put down and has cancer!!!All they care for is money!!!I had to spent thousands because of their wrong treatment but the worst part is how much my dog went through! I really wonder how many other animals get treated wrong or even put down with wrong diagnoses in their place 😡😡😡😡😡😡

I can not exclaim enough what the staff did not only for me but my fur baby Daizy. I was in the emergency room last week and knew I was going to be admitted. My roommate brought her last Thursday to be boarded and get all her updated shots. Daizy bolted out of passenger side of vehicle and was hiding in the wood for what seemed like hours. Everyone of the staff members went on the hunt for Daizy and many of them were looking for her even AFTER they closed for the evening. I just can't express the love I felt from that even though I was helpless in the ER. We are reunited as of today and both of us are well I can't thank them enough for the time, care and love they gave her while she was there. They have my loyalty forever.

My cat got attacked by 2 dogs today and my friend called and told them what happened and we were on the way, as soon as we got there, they met us at the door and took him back immediately and got him comfortable and started the exam, fortunately he didn’t need surgery, he did need quite a few stitches, but they took wonderful care of my Precious Boy! Thank You to Everyone in the Front and Back on the Clinic! They worked well as a team they kept me informed, and I got to bring my boy home tonight!!! I would highly recommend them
