Staff here is phenomenal. The fitness center compared to the gym night and day difference. The equipment is in good condition but more importantly it's a clean safe welcoming environment.
I go here pretty often(3-4x per week) and have been on this base for over 10 years. The attendants running the facilities keep it pretty clean and are always courteous. They are always sweeping and mopping, etc. The equipment is nice and gets the job done, but I wish they would put more money into making this more of a state of the art facility. A sauna would be nice, update bathrooms, use that money to modernize the place, open up that wallet(we know you got it 😉!); can we support being open 24/7…use Iwakuni, Japan’s gym as a model. Typically, I work on the treadmill and machines inside. The classes and instructors are awesome. I also like the outdoors section of the gym. Most of the time when I arrive(8-10am, weekdays) it’s not being used or there’s very little people out there. It’s clean and FREE.99! UPDATE: 09/17/24 This is now a 24 hour gym! See the front desk for details!
03/28/2025 They just removed the old equipment and replaced it with new ones. So, this is a good gym now. I'm assuming they also listened to the feedback about the equipment.
Gets the job done as a base gym. The outdoor facility is awesome and makes the gym worth going to.
Great MWR facility. Clean, versatile, and the outdoor CrossFit area is great.
