We absolutely love the McArthur Family YMCA! My son has been taking swim lessons there for the past 3 years with Mr. Tony. My son is 9 years old, nonverbal, and on the autism spectrum. He has always been very drawn to water, which caused us a lot of fear and anxiety for his safety. Thanks to Mr. Tony's patience, dedication, and incredible teaching skills, my son has become an excellent swimmer. The bond they have built is so special that my son will often ask for, “Teacher Tony, swimming pool,” which says everything about how much he enjoys his lessons. Since learning how to swim, we’ve enjoyed pool days, beach trips, and vacations without the constant fear we once had because we know our son has the skills to help keep himself safe in the water. That peace of mind is truly priceless. Our 6 year old daughter has also been taking lessons with Mr. Tony’s wife, Mrs. Pam, who is an amazing swim instructor. They are truly a dynamic duo! Both of our children genuinely love going to the YMCA and look forward to their swim lessons The entire staff is kind, professional, and welcoming, and the lifeguards are wonderful as well. We are incredibly grateful for this facility and highly recommend the McArthur Family YMCA to any family looking for quality swim instruction and a caring, supportive community. Thank you!!
I love working out at the YMCA, love Tina's body pump class and Karen's Pilates. All my kids learned to swim at their class. Family swim is tricky because they do not have too many hours, but everyone is very kind towards the kids one they are there.
I really love this gym, it has a community feel with many great classes for everyone. There are some really wonderful good people that work here, especially the kind lady at reception who helped me sign up.
Nice place and close by but always the weight machines are occupied. Same goes for lunch time and afternoons
New member to The YMCA family. In the past, I've always worked out at large Gyms with tons of equipment. This facility provides enough of equipment and amenities to get a good workout. Depending on your goals, you should be able to use what they have. I was able to switch from one location to McArthur. This location has an outdoor pool, and a basketball court. Since I'm now over age 65, this facility is working out. As a former Bodybuilder, I was excited to discover a couple of pieces of equipment that my former location did not have. The workout floor with weights, is not really big, but not too crowded. I found that early afternoon is a time where it is not too busy. People are friendly. Staff could probably be more engaging. Overall, good experience.
