I came in for a haircut with Melissa for a same day appointment. It was much appreciated that she could see me as most places require an appointment scheduled with days in advance. However, based on my experience I would not come back. I was long overdue for a haircut and lost any previous style, so I asked for layers and face framing bangs. My hair was blow dried and ironed before the cut was done, which I found odd but I usually let professionals do their thing. By the time she was done, my “bangs” were long enough to touch the middle of my neck and the back had no shape (just straight across with strands layered). Typically a layered style involves soft, cascading U or V shape. But this was not the case for me. So then I asked for actual framing around the face and a U shape on the back. To which the stylist responded by saying that this is something that should be told by in the beginning. Which is true, however as a stylist you should have a clear conversation with the customer and provide advice, rather than waiting for instructions from the customer. That way you both are on the same page. In the end she cut a bit more and I still don’t have face framing bangs. Also, when parting my hair in half, one side is longer than the other. Would not recommend.
