My kids trained her first and when I saw how my very introverted daughter began to open up, and my very emotional son began to develop more mental toughness and tenacity, I decided I needed to start training as well. I had always been curious, but my hesitation was removed once I realized how much good it was doing for my kids. Coaches and Professors are caring, helpful, and attentive. Fellow students are extremely caring, careful, and also hilarious. Even on days things don't go my way, or after a tough work day/week, the people and culture here make it easy to always want to come back. I enjoy the casual atmosphere and wonderful training partners. I'm interested in it primarily for control purposes and because Jiu Jitsu is greater than the sum of is parts. I'm self defense, not competition, focused... but if you want to roll with some killers, we have those here, too. My family and I have trained here for 5 years now. My wife and I feel like it's our second home and extension of our family. If you're wondering if it's for you, the answer is yes. It absolutely is. It's difficult, but anything valuable doesn't come easily. Do it and you will be a better version of yourself. You owe it to yourself.

First thing, I love this place! And I would recommend it anyone looking to make a positive change in their life. I have been with the school for about 3.5 years now, and it has become a second home for me. The instructor, David, is awesome. I've been coming 2-5 days a week for the jiu jitsu program since I started, and everyday is always something new and fun. But my favorite thing about Knuckle Up has got to be the people here. From the very first day I walked in the door I felt welcomed, everyone is always very friendly and willing to help me whenever I need. So anyone looking for a fun and engaging way to workout, just come in and visit us.
On my first day Here I was family. not only did I get great training I had fun learning more about the history and background of Brazilian jujitsu. the group at this place became my friends and motivators not only in this sport but in life my son loves it and to see him light up about going just made me want to go more and more if your looking for A great experience this is the place to try.... we love it
Wish my experience was better. I emailed inquiring about Jiu Jitsu and received a call back 4 days later (which I was unable to answer). Called back the following day and was greeted with an agitated "hello?". After confirming I called Knuckle Up we unfortunately had cell connection issues which further agitated the man on the phone. He called me back and we spoke briefly about classes but after one smart remark too many I asked his name (David) and told him this gym isn't for me. I wish David had mediocre phone skills, suggest hiring a dedicated secretary. Recommend anyone inquiring this gym to see David in person because he may be a decent guy, but I'll never know. I can't waste the time - deal with enough "macho" men in the military.
