The section from Hampton to the Keystone Heights Trailhead is 9.0 miles and is one of the best cycling trails I've rode on here in central FL. Wide, clean and smooth. Well maintained, county workers were spotted on the trail. Loved it!
Beautiful trail! The trees on both sides create a serene atmosphere, perfect for hiking or a peaceful walk. Loved the story walk boards on this trail! Fun for kids!
Be careful! This is a great, well-maintained long trail that I have biked a total of 20 miles on, in both directions. A big problem I came across were loose dogs unsupervised, on the trails. I was chased by 3 small aggressive dogs on my bicycle at the same time, and had I been an unfit individual or child, that could have ended badly. On another occasion biking down the south direction of the trail, there was a large dog sitting in the middle of the trail, also unattended, 5 miles into the trail. I turned around and went back. You need to be careful here, people don't watch their animals.
Nice walk and enough space for bikers and dog walkers :-)
Pitiful Trail Head. Small Parking Lot, Tool Station, One Park Bench, No BATHROOMS, No Porta Potty.
