Been wanting to visit the humane society for some time now and it finnaly happened I simply love Appaloosa!! I am a first time adopter. The staff were kind and professional the atmosphere was pleasant and clean looking if you're looking for a pet I highly recommend going through the jacksonville humane society.
This place here is amazing saving lives day and day out. If you find kittens in the community that their mothers have abandoned them …remember first., check to see if the mother is around the kittens are always best with the mother and will survive better if they are young, they need mama especially in the first week or two. Then if you notice they are abandoned, bring them here, especially if you want to foster them. You can join the kitten, Crusaders. They will help you raise the kittens up with veterinarian visits, vaccinations, food, and litter. And that once the kittens are ready to be spayed, they go back to the Humane Society and find families. It’s an amazing process unless you have an adoption fail and end up keeping the babies. I recommend this place first before you buy from a breeder, but breeders are doing their thing too, and some people want what they want, but there are tons of babies and adults and baby boomers waiting to be picked up. Save lives. Adopt from the Jacksonville Humane Society.!
They found a home for this wonderful kitten we found with his brother and mother that desperately needed A forever home his name was Louie and we are so grateful for the Humane Society. They really are a wonderful bunch of people. We miss you, Louie!
We’re so lucky to have gotten our little kitty, Bamboo here! The adoption process was so easy, seamless and informative. Everyone was so nice and welcoming! Their selection of kittens, cats and dogs were just amazing! We did go on a Friday evening at around 5-6 pm and it was pretty busy and we didn’t leave until almost 8pm because we initially wanted to see two other kittens but overall fell in love with the first one we saw and took him home that night! I definitely recommend this humane society for adoptions! The employees were even nice enough and sent us a bag of kitten chow for our first night home and an informative packet with coupons and care-taking tips. Also, if you adopt here bring your envelope to Petsmart and you get a free bag of cat/ dog food and a coupon book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🐱
I came here twice looking to adopt a cat, and a third time to pick him up after he was neutered (they don't let animals go home until they have been fixed, but you can preadopt your pet and pick them up afterwards). I was impressed by how healthy and unstressed the animals are. They have many sweet dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes. The facility is clean and well staffed. The adoption process is simple and straightforward. If you come by on a weekend or during an event it might be a long wait to see an adoption counselor, but there is nice seating and you can stroll through the cat and dog sections easily. The staff is friendly. My new kitten is the sweetest cat I've ever had, and I credit their team for raising him with love. They also have some great volunteer programs that are worth looking into if you want to give back to the community.
