Jacksonville Beach Pier is a great spot to enjoy the ocean and take in the beautiful views of the coastline. Whether you’re fishing, taking a stroll, or simply watching the sunrise, the pier offers a relaxing beach atmosphere. The area is clean and well maintained, with plenty of nearby restaurants and shops within walking distance. It’s a perfect place to spend some time by the water and enjoy everything Jacksonville Beach has to offer. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Jacksonville Pier is one of those places that quietly becomes part of your life. It’s my son’s and my favorite spot to catch the sunrise, and it never disappoints. Always clean, plenty of parking, and it opens at 6am. If you’re local, the all day pass is just a dollar, which makes it easy to come back again and again. There are clean restrooms and a small store right at the entrance for coffee or a quick bite. Simple, peaceful, and consistent. If you know, you know.
I really enjoyed walking the pier at Jax beach. The walk fee is 2.50. There were a lot of people out walking and fishing. It was a beautiful setting. I highly recommend for a stroll or to take some pictures.
## **Review: Jacksonville Beach Pier** **Rating: ★★★★★ (The Heart of Jax Beach)** Whether you’re a serious angler or just looking for a solid walk with a view, the **Jacksonville Beach Pier** is the ultimate local staple. Extending about 1,300 feet into the Atlantic, it gives you a perspective of the coastline you just can't get from the sand. **The Fishing Scene:** One of the best perks here is that you **don’t need a fishing license**—the pier’s permit covers everyone on it. * **Cost:** It’s roughly **$4.50–$5.50** for a day of fishing (depending on if you're a local). * **Gear:** If you didn't bring your own, they’ve got rod rentals for around **$15** and a bait shop right on-site. * **Catch:** Expect to see everything from Spanish Mackerel and Whiting to the occasional Kingfish or Cobia. **The Casual Stroll:** If you aren't looking to drop a line, it's only a couple of bucks to walk the deck. The concrete construction is incredibly stable (none of that wooden swaying!), and the 20-foot width means you aren't constantly bumping into fishing poles. **Pro-Tips:** * **Wildlife Spotting:** Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and sea turtles—they’re frequent visitors around the pilings. * **Timing:** It opens at **6:00 AM**, making it the best seat in town for the sunrise. * **Parking:** If you’re visiting on a weekday, parking in the city lots is usually **free**. On weekends/holidays, be prepared to pay a small fee. **The Vibe:** It’s family-friendly, wheelchair accessible, and clean. It’s the perfect spot to clear your head, catch dinner, or just watch the surfers battle the waves below. > **Quick Note:** They close up at **11:00 PM**, so it's a great spot for a late-night ocean breeze before the bars or restaurants nearby close down. >l
Didn't see much aquatic life on the beach. I recommend the Gulf side. Jacksonville was a nice, relaxing beach if you don't want to travel far into Florida.
