Outdoor seating was comfortable in March. There was no wait for a table. Staff were super friendly and engaging. Food was good and there are many options to choose from. We enjoyed the grits as a side item. The seafood platter with cod was yummy! The clams and fried green tomatoes were excellent. The cornbread with sweet butter appetizer was my favorite!

We showed up as a large group (about eight full picnic tables of kids and adults), and I honestly wasn’t sure how it would go — but the team at Florida Cracker Cafe absolutely nailed it. They handled everything incredibly efficiently and had everyone seated and served within about 20 minutes, which is impressive on its own — but even more so considering the restaurant already had customers inside. The food was great across the board — burgers were delicious, chicken was excellent, and most importantly, all the kids were happy (which says a lot!). Huge credit to the staff for staying organized, friendly, and fast under pressure. This kind of service is rare, and they made the whole experience easy and enjoyable for our entire group. Highly recommend — especially if you’ve got a crowd!
Food was ok, perhaps not worth the price. If you have to wait more than 15 min to be seated, move on. I ordered the shrimp n grits. Although the taste was good it was the simplest shrimp n grits I have ever had. The coleslaw slaw was a bit warm and the potato salad was pretty good! The restaurant itself was clean and the staff friendly.
Been here many times and have had good and bad experiences. This one unfortunately was a bad one. The staff was great and accommodating. Jo , our server was very pleasant. The food on the other hand was on the low scale. The crab cake was terrible and the shrimp were rubbery. This place has been here for many years and has a great spot St Augustine. I hope that my next visit will be better. I do have to include that the manager did acknowledge our complaints and apologize.
We stopped by Florida Cracker Cafe for a bite to eat and it was really nice to sit outside and enjoy the Florida sun. The food was alright, nothing overly delicious but well prepared. The menu is fairly basic with food you'd find at any restaurant. Not great for vegans tho. If anything I were to praise at The Florida Cracker Cafe would be the service, there's indoor and outdoor seating they have to attend to and they were running all over the place, but they didn't miss a thing. The hostess checked in with us twice during our meal, which I appreciated. If you're in the neighborhood and need a quick bite, give The Florida Cracker Cafe a try !!
