This is by far my favorite location I’ve been to! The facility is very well equipped, and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. The kids’ room is amazing too — even on their very first visit, my kids felt completely comfortable there. Despite how big and busy this location is, it never feels overcrowded. There’s plenty of space for everyone, and the staff does a great job keeping everything running smoothly. Definitely a place I’m happy to come back to!
Great layout and equipment. Only thing I didn't like was the sauna was at 150 when I entered and I had to wait 10 minutes for the temp to get where it should be (175 bare minimum). I didn't have time to stay 30 minutes for my usual 20 minute sauna session. Overall a nice location. Almost as good as Jax Beach.
Pros-The staff is nice and always greet you when arriving and leaving. For the most part all the equipment works or is pretty quick at being fixed if broken. Cons-I’m leaving a review based off some that I’ve seen on cleanliness. This gym when Bailey’s ran it constantly had people clean it. This isn’t specifically directed at this location as several around are dirty , but it also is since I go here the most for convenience. The bathrooms have toilet paper and paper towels on floor. Urinals have dried urine on seats, urinal and floors. The odor of the locker room is nasty in itself. I’ll edit this once I see a true change in the hygiene of this place.
I was a member here for almost 2 years. at first when they took over from Bailey's things were pretty good the staff was nice the equipment was good the facilities were clean. However when I got into a motorcycle accident I was given a terrible attitude by the general and assistant manager there just for trying to freeze my membership. The true test of a place is when things go wrong. So I recommend to find a locally-owned gym not these big corporate chains.
I had been told to hit the St. John's bluff location for some time, and finally got around to it. I think, so far, this may be the best of all the locations. I like how the machines are laid out on the floor in sections, complementing each other. Some of the machines in there, like the Hammer Strength plate-loaded dip machine, are hard to come by in this town, so that's a game-changer. That, along with all of your plate-loaded back machines, is perfect. The leg room with the pit shark facing the wall is ideal because that's where you're really going to need to lock in and focus. If I had to give any critique, it would be that there may need to be more weights on the dumbbell rack between 10s and 30s. I feel like that's where a lot of people fall into with smaller muscle groups and accessory work. Other than that, though, the gym is the closest to having more "boutique" or specialty pieces besides Iron Horse Gym in Jax. I will definitely be coming to this gym on my off days to spend as much time as possible. I definitely had a good time and a good gym session the day I went. I hit all upper body, chest, back, shoulders, and arms, and I walked out with a great pump
