I'm a truck driver and stopped in for some food. I was hesitant to go because there was not alot of brown outside this place. Took the chance and glad I did. I was greeted by Pj who was in mid conversation and noticed my shirt which said (Acknowledge me) if you know you know. He simply put one finger in the air as a Tribl chief would and he became my bald bearded bro from that moment. He made sure I was comfortable and service was great. This interaction stuck with me for 2 days. I did something stupid and Pj remember me when I called and took care of my problem. God bless that brother and the food and atmosphere was great and my wait time was nonexistent. This place was a great gem. Please stop in and Holla at Pj. This place represents What America should be 🇺🇲
Would not recommend. Definitely not the Bono's I remember :( Maybe the one on Lane Ave is still good. Greens were under cooked, beans were not flavorful. Fried squash was cut long ways and not crispy. Corn nuggets were the best side. Brisket was dry. Fried were soggy. Daughter said her pulled pork sandwich was good. Waitress Eva was great.
Kaitlyn S was our waitress and she was great. My collard greens were great, chicken juicy. Wife got pulled pork sandwich and loved it. AC was struggling, but the t was 98 degrees outside.
Absolutely disgusting! They used to have good food not sure if it's new owners now or what. Please check your food before eating it. My daughter had a big piece of plastic in her turkey. Their shouldn't be any in there unless it's prepackaged/cooked somewhere else. Y'all shouldn't be in business serving prepackaged food reheated on the smoker. Not to mention the dried ribs and brisket me and my husband got. No apologies nothing the guy manager is very rude.
I’ve been a loyal Bono’s customer for over 15 years, relying on the Bartram and Phillips Highway location for the last five. The food has always been solid—until we moved and tried the Fleming Island location. I ordered the large brisket platter for takeout, and it was hands-down the worst brisket I’ve ever been served. To be clear, I’ve eaten gas station brisket, so calling this terrible is an understatement. It was rock-hard, rubbery, and contained far more gristle and fat than actual meat. Even my dog turned his nose up at the pieces I set down for him. It’s going to take a long time to earn my palate's forgiveness after this one. I don't know if they use takeout orders to unload the food they were about to toss in the dumpster, but if you're going to risk eating here, dine in—at least then you can look them in the eye before accepting a plate of brisket that could double as tire shards.
