We have 10 pets: 5 rats, 4 cats, and a bunny. My daughter found Birch when looking for a vet for the rats and was so pleased by how they treated her and our rats that we decided all our pets should switch to them. They are so loving, compassionate, and kind. They genuinely care. Everyone from office staff to technicians to vets. For us, finding a vet that treats our rats with respect and understands they are as loved as any dog or cat, is difficult. The staff and doctors at Birch have helped us through tough times with our rats. This past week we lost a rat and found out my cat has diabetes. The cat had serious complications and needed an ER. They were incredibly helpful through the process and helped us understand life with a diabetic cat so we are set up for success. When we call with questions about it, they are quick to answer and never put out. And they go out of their way to ask about my daughter and her rats after the recent loss of our rat. I have had a lot of pets in my lifetime and I have seen a lot of vets. But I have never been so compelled to write a review for one. We are so grateful to have found the perfect place for all our babies. Special thanks to Gavron and Wint for taking such good care of our pets, and us!
5 Stars. We like Birch Island (my human family and dog family members all agree) - it is a nice, new, 3-in-one business. We always seek out these types of business for our 4-legged friends. Our previous service was through Ark Animal Hospital, which closed due to the sale of the business and we didn't like the rates on the new owners. We use Grooming, Boarding, and Vet services. We've used the Vet and Grooming so far. Each were a great experience. The folks at each desk were pleasant and seemed to be in a good mood. lol. They seemed to genuinely like my dog and Lambeau liked them. I will continue to use these folks. I will update if and when I use their boarding services.
***Dr. LaMon is the best vet we’ve ever had.** My cat, Bogie, is medically complex, and I am so grateful that we found this team for his primary medical home. The vets, vet techs, and front desk staff all seem to genuinely care. The expanded hours, ease of getting an appointment, and separate waiting room for cats and dogs all really make a difference for our healthcare experience. Prices are also reasonable. Highly, highly recommend. Tech Niah is a cat whisperer who made my traumatized cat feel at ease. You can tell the people who work here love what they do. My only suggestion is that it would be helpful if they partner with Trupanion.
Dr. Dee was amazing and so knowledgeable! We trust her completely with our fur baby and we will be also be bringing our other fur baby from now on. Thanks Dr. Dee.
I take my dog there because Brandi the groomer is excellent. I submitted his updated vaccine form 3 weeks before the grooming date. I received an email - a day before the appointment- stating that they will do the vaccine + a wellness exam. I went there and was told that they received the form but didn’t update it. Plus a new requirement that includes the influenza vaccine. I called his veterinarian - he said that the vaccine is not required anymore. Birch island denied the grooming appointment without the vaccine. Chaotic situation. The front desk is constantly changing staff members - some complaining about the management. There are other places.
