I had to go to the emergency room for the first time ever recently and it was quite an experience. Most people, from the check in girls to the nurses, were absolutely wonderful and I couldn't be more thankful. But one "doctor" really made me think, and i decided to leave a comment. I wish I could remember his name, but he's an ER doc, morning shift. Very tall, yet also a very heavy man with reddish brown hair. To this doctor - you have no right to be rude to people because they happen to be in between expensive health insurance plans. One doesn't come to the hospital for an emergency to be treated like that. We don't all have the luxury of pretending to be a doctor while the nurses run circles around us doing all of the actual work. This hospital would be better off without you, because the rest of the staff couldn't have been nicer.
Warning do not bring your children to this ER they'll be more worried about calling the police on you than tending care to your child recently took my 6-week-old up here PER guidance from my pediatrician. My child had no bruises scratches bumps lumps or marks of any sort just. we were treated like true criminals here. Won't name the nurse but she didn't know the whole incident was recorded on video and was shared to the detectives that came to the hospital. We are not drug addicts we are not bad people. I am a holy man myself the way me and my wife were treated at this place is absolutely disgusting my wife was crying profusely saying she was not a bad mother and did not do this to our child. My child was not crying screaming or bleeding anywhere nor did he have fluid coming out of his ears nose or mouth never vomited. One nurse felt the need for him to be transported downtown to turn around and be immediately discharged and said they don't know why we were even sent there. The x-rays and MRIs that were done at this location were suffice for the trauma staff downtown. I am now terrified to ever return back to any Baptist Medical Center.SMH astonishingly we had more compassion from the two detectives that came to the hospital then we received from any staff at this Hospital. It also amazes me they didn't take a single photo of my child but yet thought it was severe enough to call the cops. Still just a little astonished of this whole situation that is now severely affecting my everyday life.
I've been sitting in this ER for 2 hours to be exact. I've seen several people come in after me & have went to the back. Mind you no one is in distress if so they would've been admitted versus sent to waiting room. I go to the front counter the young lady was very apologetic she called to the back to be told they're waiting for a room to get prepared for me. I have a really bad toothache, I have pus draining && I'm told I have to wait. This waiting room is empty yet I'm still waiting.. All I need is antibiotics. Update... I just got in my room after hr 45 mins. I sit in the chair. Normally I get on the bed especially coming in late but my mind is telling me sit in the chair. While sitting here I noticed trash is on the floor. So u mean to tell me after waiting I get a dirty room!?!? I don't know who is running the ER tonight but I'm highly disappointed. I'll definitely be looking for somewhere else to go for future needs. More updates so apparently February my insurance changed so it'll be self pay. I found this out talking with registar. Which I'll call my insurance company in the AM easy fix. But when I say to registar oh so that's why I was left in the waiting room && placed in a dirty room she got smart with me && said we'll let me hurry up && get u out of here then. I'll definitely be calling in tomorrow morning to complain.
Ben was absolutely AMAZING with my 9 year old. She normally is terrified of any kind of doctors but he made her feel so comfortable and was so kind.
I cannot let the day go by without giving a shout out to Dr. Chima. Yesterday when the kids were getting checked out from being in a car accident Norah was terrified and did not want to get checked out and Clayton of course just had no clue what was going on. The moment Dr. Chima walked into the room you start to see Norah’s face light up! He was just who we needed to check out our kids. After checking them out and making sure everything was ok with them he stayed awhile longer just to make sure they felt safe and happy. He brought Norah into the toy room and let he pick out whatever she wanted plus gave her a popsicle which was like the cherry on top for her. Then he picked out Clayton a toy and got him chocolate ice cream cause he noticed he had his first birthday coming up! He sang songs with the kids and acted out different characters from Disney which had us all belly laughing. It was just what they needed after a traumatic afternoon. Im so thankful the Lord put just the right people in our path! Could not go without giving him a shout out. He was amazing and so caring. You could tell he really enjoys and loves the kids he cares for. It made my mama heart so happy.
