WoodSpring Suites Jacksonville Orange Park

Long post alert. Soon as you walk in the lobby, it smells of Marijuana. When 1st checked in, room key would not work, neither would staff. The guy very helpful took stairs back down to front desk to switch rooms around and brought paperwork back up to me to sign. Pictures don't amount to what the actual rooms look like. Smoking signs posted inside hotel. Well my floor reeked of Marijuana instant headache walking out the room. The overpass that is on property has 3 alligators (very nice). The food that's thrown in there to feed them has done rotted and makes the air smell bad. I was smelling the smell in my room that night making my head ache more. Next no smoking with 25ft of building posted. The front desk clerk that night, she came right out and fired up her cigarette by the entrance door. The room, little black bugs (3 total we killed) were crawling on counter. The bathroom was clean except for hair in the tub and toilet seat. Bed was ok, Wi-Fi worked, refrigerator got really cold. Checking out easy, just slide under dropped cage and someone will check you out whenever they retrieved the keys.

My wife and son's family stayed there last week. While the location is good and the staff was friendly (but not particurly helpful).The actual rooms and halls leave something to be desired. The floors were sticky and one room smelled like a dog had been in it. While it has a kitchenette, there are no utensils, pots, etc; just empty cabinets. When they asked at the front desk, the clerk said they don't have any. It will do but we will look elsewhere next time.

I agree with the previous 1- to 2-star reviews. There were food splatters on the walls, refrigerator, and even the bed’s headboard. The elevator was dirty both inside and outside, and it appeared that no one regularly vacuumed or cleaned it. The shower floor and faucets were only partially clean, with visible stains on it. Also, the room smells terribly. Another major inconvenience was the entrance doors, which do not open automatically. Carrying bags or pulling luggage in and out of the building was extremely frustrating. The reason why they probably have 4 stars reviews is because of the staff and location. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Ladies at the desk were professional and kind. The room we were in however, had several roaches. We stayed 3 nights and killed 10+ roaches. Hard to have a comfortable stay when there are literally roaches crawling on my pillow.
