The atmosphere here is great, and our server Bailey was fantastic ,attentive, full of great recommendations, and just excellent all around. The food itself was good overall; we loved the charcuterie board and will definitely be ordering that again. I had the steak, which was cooked perfectly, but it was completely unseasoned , no salt, no flavor. Adding salt myself fixed it and it tasted great after that. My daughter’s french onion burger had the same issue: the patty was flavorless, with no seasoning at all. Since everything was cooked exactly right and just needed salt, it seems like the kitchen may have simply forgotten to season the food that night. One suggestion: please make the fries crispy instead of soft. That was the only real letdown of the meal. I’d have loved crispy fries alongside my steak. That said, we’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu
It was amazing! I loved the service- Lace was so sweet and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. She was training Rachel and she also was very nice and helpful with explaining the meals. They made the visit worthwhile! Great experience overall.
We had an incredible dining experience here at Whiskey Cake in St. John’s Town Center, Jacksonville FL! The crab cakes were absolutely scrumptious, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The spinach artichoke dip was creamy, flavorful, and the ideal starter. For the main course, the wood grilled salmon in the chowder broth sauce was simply amazing, rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. A huge shout out to our server for his impeccable service, attentiveness, and friendly demeanor, he truly made our experience even better! The manager even came out to check on us, which was such a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere was lovely, warm and inviting. Even with the restaurant being very busy, every person was attended to and taken care of with care. Reservations are definitely the way to go to ensure a smooth, relaxed dining experience. Everything we tried was beautifully presented and bursting with taste. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a delicious, well prepared meal in a welcoming and attentive environment!
After living in Florida for over twenty years, I’ve never written a restaurant review until now. My friend and I originally had a reservation at another spot in the same plaza, but we took a wrong turn and stumbled upon Whiskey Cake. The name alone caught our attention, and we decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere impressed us…great decor and lighting set the perfect vibe. The service was just as impressive. Our hostess, Keyonna, and server, Kailey, went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and satisfied. And the food? Phenomenal. The crab cake was delicious, and the candied bacon is an absolute must try. And of course the famous dessert of whiskey Cake. We were so impressed that we went back the very next day. Without a doubt, we’ll return whenever we’re in Jacksonville. Whether you're planning a special event or just looking for a great place to eat, this restaurant delivers a truly exceptional experience. I highly recommend it and be sure to ask for Kailey!
It was closed for business at the time we arrived. I returned to the restaurant later this night. I had a fantastic time and food was incredible. I was able to park close to the front door for free. I was seated immediately without reservations. The staff and our waitress took great care of us. Our waitress took time to explain just about everything on the menu since this was my first time there. We ordered the prime ribeye steak, the fish and chips, the deviled eggs, and the whiskey cake with ice cream. The steak was perfect with house sauce. The fish was great, but the fries were a little too salty, the deviled eggs has great taste and flavor, and the whiskey cake with ice cream was well worth the trip. I look forward to returning in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant for the entire family.
