Good food, friendly staff, love the all you can eat option. Pick and choose on a piece of paper and brought out fresh to you.
Walked in for dinner with my service dog. Was told they wouldn't seat me with a dog. I calmly let them know he was a service dog and legally allowed entry, they still refused. Even after telling them it was against the law to refuse service, the girl told me "I know but I still can't seat you" in front of the whole restaurant and a lady that had come in after me even shook her head and said "they can't do that, that'll illegal." After requesting to speak to the manager, I was allowed to sit without the manager even coming to speak to me. The girl that initially refused entry acted off the whole time I was there and made me uncomfortable, even though I was never rude to her, and the manager never came to speak to me or apologize. Luckily, there was a very nice waiter that did most of the serving while I was there and he's the only reason I gave two stars. My service dog calmly tucked himself under the table and didn't make one sound or disturbance the whole time I was there and was notably better behaved than the child screaming a few tables down. A sad failure as a business. They need to read up on ADA regulations and the federal law that protects service dogs ability to access. The food was just ok so just one less restaurant I'll be returning to in the future.
Wasabi Sushi in Jacksonville is a Japanese restaurant located in one of the many plazas that make up the River City Marketplace “outdoor shopping mall”. This is conveniently very near JAX airport, and with more than 4,800 parking spaces this is the place where all the area Uber/Lyft drivers hang out waiting for airport related work, meaning that you can get here rather quickly from any area hotel you may be staying at. The restaurant is somewhat less than moderately sized and a bit cluttered, although clean. They feature hibachi meals here, and have an all-you-can-eat sushi/sashimi option, as well as other plates. I went with the steamed Pork Gyoza, Green Salad, Clear Soup, and the very fresh Sushi & Sashimi Combo; absolutely delicious. Very much recommended.
Great experience at Wasabi! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out surprisingly fast — We got the shrimp fried rice, miso soup, clear soup, and a couple of sushi rolls (including the Spicy Girl and Baymeadows rolls), and everything hit the spot. The sushi was well made and nicely presented, and the shrimp in the fried rice was perfectly grilled. Both soups were warm and tasty! The service was a bit slow when it came to refilling drinks. That said, they were clearly busy, and the staff was still polite and attentive overall. They have AYCE Sushi too but we didn’t try that this time around! Definitely a place I’d come back to for another date night!
They offer all-you-can-eat sushi, but I just ordered tempura. It was just okay. My sister ordered the all-you-can-eat sushi, and she said it was okay for the price.
