⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tolomato River Boardwalk is an amazing, peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. The boardwalk offers beautiful scenery, and it's a great spot for a quiet walk while taking in the views of the river and surrounding wildlife. If you love being outdoors, you'll definitely appreciate the natural beauty here. One thing to keep in mind: the bugs can be pretty bad around the trees and bushes, especially during warmer months, so be sure to wear bug spray. Other than that, it's a wonderful place to visit and unwind.

Tolomato River Boardwalk Preserve is an absolute hidden gem for anyone who loves peaceful nature walks and authentic Old Florida scenery. The boardwalk winds beautifully through the marshlands, offering incredible views of the Tolomato River, wildlife, and native plants at every turn. It’s quiet, clean, and incredibly relaxing — the perfect place to clear your mind, take photos, birdwatch, or just enjoy the sound of nature. The trail is well-maintained and easy to walk, making it great for families, casual walkers, and anyone looking for a calm escape from busy daily life. The sunsets here can be breathtaking, especially when the light reflects off the water and marsh grass. One of the best parts is how untouched and natural everything feels. You genuinely feel connected to Florida’s coastal environment while still being conveniently close to town. Whether you’re local to Saint Augustine or just visiting, this preserve is absolutely worth experiencing. ★★★★★ 5/5 — Peaceful, scenic, and one of the best quiet nature spots in the area.
Beautiful boardwalk trail. Trail is hidden away at the back of Palencia. Great trail for kids. Better done in the early morning or just before sunset...bug spray is a must! We have been a few time and always see new wildlife!!
Beautiful scenery. Lots of potential for great golden hour photos. Not so great for picnics though. LOTS of bugs so bug spray is highly recommended along with sun screen.
You go into the Palencia subdivision-use the guest gate entrance and let them know you are visiting the boardwalk. About a 2 mike round trip little hike. Nice and peaceful! Beaches along the walking path and a picnic table at the end. There is a portapotty at the beginning. Make sure to bring bug spray because the mosquitos can be bad. Really enjoyed it!
