My experience with Thriveworks has been fabulous. Starting with the very knowledgeable young man that took all my information at the beginning of this journey. My therapist is Ann and she is great. Our first session was online and it was a bit rocky due to our audio being touch and go, but we persevered to the end. Our second session was awesome. She had told me I could bring my dog to help me be more comfortable. He stole her heart and he was so well behaved. She spent the majority of the session giving me advice on how to look for jobs, which right now is my biggest stressor as current pt job going away this fall. She really helped, but what she did for me was gave me Hope. New job is a bit early as I wouldn’t be able to do 2 job, but she unlocked something in me to focus on jobs I have from home and urge to focus on them to get them current. We enrolled to be referred to a counselor. We explained our situation and was referred to a counselor that only deals with children. What? How is that a match. Then she referred us back only to be referred to a counselor whose walking down the street talking to us on her phone while its on speaker. What. Then she tries to talk over me in the middle of a sentence. When I said I have the floor she argued with me. WHAT! WHAT IS GOING ON. Not sure these people are very qualified. Low level, counselors...
Had an appt with professional who sent a document that I needed to take to my primary care provider. Thriveworks can’t seem to sort out the problem of getting registered on the proper portal to retrieve said document. So after several calls on the service live having to explain the issue from scratch every time is unacceptable. Nearly 2 weeks and still unable to log into portal… The lack of competence is staggering.
Amanda was kind and appeared curious about me and my situation. My understanding is that these first few sessions are foundational to develop familiarity and rapport. Much appreciated. The book recommendation from the first session has been quite interesting and as I continue through it, I look forward to going through it a second time and take notes.
I really enjoyed our time. I felt like a weight was lifted today! I was really nervous about this counseling session, but it was a real blessing!
