I visited during lunch on a weekday and was surprised to see how busy it was with a line out the door. Got excited as if there’s a line, it must be good. We waited about 10-15 minutes before ordering, but the cashier was very nice. I wasn’t sure we would find a table, but they place you at a table rather than you finding one yourself, which is nice. I ordered the Kobe Burger, which was $17.50, and it was wild to me. I also ordered a quiche to-go. I can’t remember the price, but my total was definitely over $30. I unfortunately did not like the burger. I love a good specialty burger, but this one tasted very strange. The fries were really good, though. I believe I upgraded my fries to truffle fries. The quiche was really good for breakfast the following day. I need to give it another try and get a new sandwich.
This place has been on my must-try list for years. The word of long lines had deterred me. Decided to randomly try a weekday to check it out. I was not prepared. The long list of menu items in cursive tiny print and low light was overwhelming for this set of aging eyes. I should have researched ahead of time what to order - tip 1. After ordering at the counter, you’re assigned a table. A lovely lady brought us our drinks and two types of bread with oil and vinegar herb dip. Pumpernickel was the best of the two - tip 2. Unless it’s a special, sandwiches don’t come with sides - tip 3. There are refills if you ask - tip 4. The bread was the best part of my sandwich. The fries were good as well. A few people had burgers that looked great. I think I built the place up in my head so much I may have disappointed myself. I will try again and do my research beforehand.
This was a surprisingly beautiful place off in the cut. This place has been here for decades. They have a lot of business and I never seen a commercial. That's saying something. I ordered me a Swiss Turkey Guacamole sandwich and lemon water. I really enjoyed the flavor of how they meshes the texture and vegetables together. It has a hint of Thanksgiving to me. This time I wasn't having dessert, but, the birthday cake slice was really good from what I heard at the table. The ambiance was very calming and it doesn't feeling inside what you'd expect from the outside. You have to come here to see for yourself.
Crowded at busy hours no more than 50 seats plus 3 tables outside. Dirty! Very stinky, shared bathrooms. Not sure what the hype is about. Over priced for some slim sandwiches. DOESN'T compare to KATZ Deli. There was no wow factor here, just a boring place with boring food and boring people.
Great sandwiches and desserts! You can adjust your proteins and make it a vegetarian version! Eggplant panini is amazing! Parking somewhat challenging during busy times but it is worth waiting!
