Nice facility. Very easy to check in for a first time client. Office front staff was very nice. Took me back pretty close to schedule time. Hygienist was very nice and put you to ease. She did a good job of explaining everything going on. Dentist was very nice and explained all the steps we will need to go through. Very happy with the experience.
On April 8th, 2026, I had a scheduled appointment at 1:20 p.m. for a root canal procedure with Dr. Carbot. Unfortunately, my experience during this visit was deeply distressing. Throughout the procedure, Dr. Carbot appeared visibly frustrated and, at times, handled me in a manner that felt unnecessary forceful. He expressed irritation regarding my difficulty opening my mouth wide enough and commented on my lower tooth being in the way. While I understand that dental procedures can present challenges, the way these concerns were blurred out in frustration, communicated and managed caused me significant discomfort. At several points, I was repeatedly instructed to open my mouth wider, and the dental block intended to assist with this was pushed in a way while in my mouth that caused my head to move from the pressure. It was at this point the assistant asked him, “Would you like to take a break?”, to which he refused. She then asked me would I like to take a break and I nodding no just hoping for them to finish the procedure. As well as considering the fact that I was in that position with my mouth open for quite sometime and I was considering the fact that the numbing medication could wear off. Additionally, my lip was handled roughly when it interfered with the procedure, rather than being gently adjusted or assisted by staff. Dr. Carbolt aggressively pulled my bottom lip out the way and firmly pinned it. Eventually, the dental assistant did step in to help in a calm and appropriate manner. The procedure lasted for an extended period, with my mouth held open for well over an hour before a break was offered-approximately around 3:15 p.m., which was when Dr. Carbolt pushed the block in my mouth causing my head to move, despite my appointment beginning at approximately 1:20 p.m. and me being numbed at approximately 1:50 p.m. which was when a text came to my phone to complete a review, while I waited on the medication to take effect (numb). During the time of the procedure, I experienced significant physical strain and emotional distress, to the point where I became visibly upset/sad. It was only after I began crying that a break was taken. When Dr. Carbolt returned, his demeanor had improved somewhat, possibly following a discussion with the assistant. However, there was no direct communication with me from Dr. Carbolt regarding the earlier issues, no explanation of the procedure’s progress, and no apology for the discomfort I experienced. As a result of this experience, I left feeling mistreated and unsettled. The following day, I experienced soreness from the end of my lip he aggressively stretched, as well as pain opening my mouth on that one side, and a small spilt and bruising at that corner of my lip due to the extent to which it had been stretched and handled during the procedure. While the procedure itself was not painful due to the numbing medication, the manner in which it was conducted and the physical aftereffects have left a lasting negative impression. This experience has caused me considerable anxiety about returning for future dental care, including a necessary follow-up for a crown. I share this feedback in the hope that it encourages greater awareness, patience, and attentiveness to patients comfort-particularly recognizing that each patient’s anatomy and tolerance may differ. A more compassionate and communicative approach would have made a significant difference in my experience. I wish this business nothing but the best. However, I would love for the involved to learn and grow from the experience. I too work a stressful job. When your frustration gets you to a point of aggressive behavior you must step away and take a breather. Just communicate the fact that you must take a second. Additionally, you mentioned you couldn’t do it while you were frustrated or agitated. That was okay. Just communicate you have tried and offer an alternative or refund to have done elsewhere. Consider the quality over quantity. Attached are photos.
Friendly staff. However, my hygienist took too much time selling me services. The hygienist was trying to pushing mouth guard this visit. I haven't visit TDP for two years, because my hygienist (Michelle) left. Naturally, they evaluated me with many x-rays, but I was there for cleaning; it wasn't done, so we had to reschedule. A total waste of my time. I have to make another schedule for cleaning, and orthodontist work. I had a filling and crown that came off a month ago. I tried to schedule to be seen sooner, but nothing were available. This exacerbated the problem, now I need a root canal, and crown work that needed to be done. One of the crown work that was done by them came off twice. I feel that I should not have to pay to get it done again, but I either pay them $1300 for a new crown or $150 to try and salvage the one I have, but it's not guaranteed that it will stay on. These are new staffs, I really miss the old crew. If, I didn't waste my insurance coverage on them already, I would look for another place, but it's too late. I needed these work done. We will see how it goes.
I went to the office in Orange Park as a new patient after relocated back to Clay County in 2024. My last cleaning was June 2024. My visit was October 2025 and I left feeling very uneasy. I went for a cleaning, but got a consult instead. They told me I needed a deep cleaning of all 4 quadrant, they told me I was developing cavities in 2 of teeth, and they said I should seal my molars that weren't filled. They also recommended me to get invisalign, even when I told them my orthodontist was in town. Well the cost was about $400 which at the time I couldn't afford. I went back to my dentist I used before I moved today. He's in Orange Park also. I was nervous he was going to tell me the cavities had gotten worse, and that I would still need the deep cleaning. He didn't find anything after almost 10 months later. The Dentist Place was just trying to take my money. I was so relieved that my teeth are in good condition, but I'm so angry that they wanted to perform services on my teeth that I didn't need. How would a doctor take advantage and perform costly and unnecessary treatment on perfectly healthy teeth. I hope people read this reviews on this place. They should be closed down for these practices. Shame on you for your practices. Patients are like lambs in a field of wolves and no one to protect them. I'm pissed.
I had a root canal done back in May, that was a terrible experience. The dr had to take 3 breaks one of them i was told he had to take allergy medicine, he was also very forceful, instead of just saying to move my head down he grabbed my chin and just shoved it down. Also ruined my shirt I was wearing, it has bleach spots on it. I was left semi traumatized from the whole procedure especially being there for over 2hrs if not longer. My mouth was so sore for days I could barely open it to eat, the inside was also all cut up, the side of my tongue was also sore. Then I had to wait 5 weeks for my crown and when I went to get that put on, I told the dr it didn’t feel right and I was hitting that tooth first. He had me close my mouth and measured by my front teeth and just said it was a perfect and glued it on ignoring my concerns. A couple weeks later I had to go back because i was in so much pain, I thought the root canal failed but turns out my bite was off. It was fixed by the other dr because I refused to have to male dr work on me again. I told them I couldn’t tell if it was completely fixed because that tooth was still hurting. They said give it a week for the pain and swelling to go down. I then received a bill for them having to fix something I told the first dr wasn’t right in the first place. So now I’m still in pain and hoping I can get another dentist office to fix the issue soon because living with constant pain isn’t the best feeling. Definitely will not be going back.
