I LOVED THE BUILDING, THE DECOR, THE CANDY, THE EATING VENUE, and THE HISTORY!!! The girl did a great job with the tour! It was fascinating. I guess I misinterpreted and I would have loved to have made my candy bar My Way....My Self... That would have been fun! That's why I gave it a 4, otherwise a 5. Loved my visit!
This place is beautiful. Unfortunately, it looks like they are slowly letting go. The workers were great but it was the small things I noticed. The ice cream shop was closed. (Now served in the dining area.) The bathroom was gross. The workers in the dining area seemed to short staffed as the wait was long and the food and drinks were subpar. Empty candy bins. Just needs some TLC. I'd say so much potential but they were there and are slowly just losing the luster. Still 4 stars and worth a trip.
We had a good time. The information given on the tour was very interesting. The chocolate tasting made me see that I like dark chocolate, I wouldn’t have thought that. I think I want to come back and do a class on truffles next.
Let me start by telling you this Candy store is a destination and a must whenever you are visiting Jacksonville, FL. "Feeling like a kid in a Candy store" is just an understatement! As you walk-in you will be greeted by the sweetest people in earth. They have a variety of delicious, and decadent sweet treats like chocolate covered popcorn, candy apples, taffy, rice crispy, numerous chocolate combinations and much more. They have a restaurant with delicious food and an ice cream parlor. The prices are reasonable. This place is so beautifully decorated, you will love the picture perfect opportunities. My family loves going to Sweet Pete's. If you decide to visit I highly recommend their "Sea Salt Caramels" take some home with you to enjoy and share. 🍫🍬🍭🍨🍡❤️
Great Experience, Just Watch Out for Peak Party Times! We recently visited Sweet Pete's for their 4:00 PM Saturday lollipop-making class, and overall, it was a fantastic experience! The building itself was easy to find and absolutely stunning. The decorations inside and out are exceptional, it feels like a beautiful, whimsical candy wonderland. As a group of two adults and two teenagers, we had a blast actually making the lollipops. It was a hands-on activity that we all enjoyed. Things to keep in mind, because we went during a peak Saturday afternoon slot, there was a 7-year-old’s birthday party wrapping up right next to us. Although our class was separated by a curtain, the volume and number of young kids running around made it very loud. It was quite difficult to hear our instructor, Pete, over the commotion. There is a bit of downtime while waiting for the sugar to reach the correct temperature. We felt this would have been the perfect opportunity for the staff to share more details about the factory's history or how the candy-making process works. Despite the noise, we had a wonderful time and walked away with some great memories (and delicious lollipops). I would definitely recommend this experience.
