The old people working on Sunday 3/1/26 were rude and grumpy. Even the lady working there had to make a comment whenever we were walking up to the front of the store. She said oh good they're coming up here we're about to close. Obviously I know what time the store closes and it was before 5 we were leaving. If you want people's business you definitely need to be taught customer service. If I could leave less than a 1 star I would.

I have been going to Sugar Bear Antiques since the early 2000s. I have purchased many many items there. I even remember years ago the precious owners dog that used to roam the aisles and I would love on it. I’ve had conversations with the owners about their Brimfield trips and more. i’ve also always honored their policy of zero purses and left mine in the car and had to go get it in my car when I made purchases. Today I walked in there and noticed a new sign no dogs except service ones. Honestly, the two folks behind the counter were busy helping customers and I could have easily just walked to the right holding my 8 lb dog, but out of respect I got their attention, told them I would only carry her and promptly was told I wasnt allowed unless she was a service dog. Now I guess I could have stuffed her back into my car on a Florida August day and gone back in but thats not my MO. Do you realize that many antique shoppers have pets that are family to them…you know like your dog in the shop all those years ago? I was terribly disappointed and will not go back to this store.
Absolutely our last trip. We were accosted at the front door by an elderly employee who claimed my handbag was too large. My bag was nestled under my arm and barely large enough to hold my phone and wallet. My adult husband was told he couldn't have a lidded drink in his hand. We obliged the employee and walked our items back to our car. The final straw was when I was using the restroom and the same employee began beating on the door telling me I was not allowed to use the toilet. She then instructed me NOT TO FLUSH the toilet I was activity using....she demanded I not flush my urine...the strangest encounter I have EVER had. We also felt that we were being monitored the entire time in the store. Judging by the recent reviews left on Google...the owners of this establishment really need to take action...and fix the numerous holes in the ceiling where the booths were being drenched by rain water.
Not only a pleasant one but a relaxing shopping experience today at Sugar Bear. Holiday cheer filled the aisle of various booths displaying many antiques and other collectibles throughout the store. The employees are caring, helpful, kind and professional. The aisles are very spacious to walk and the individual sellers booths are neatly organized. The clean and comfy bathrooms are conveniently located in the back of the store. Parking is located on the property. I usually have something in mind when I visit and luckily I found what I was looking for...And more! Holiday sales have begun and what a perfect time to stop in and shop for those unique and wonderful gifts for your loved ones. But don't forget about YOU! I purchased an adorable Angel holding a cardinal, wooden carved elephant and a ladies jacket to donate as a gift. The holiday spirit is amongst us and what a wonderful time of the year to visit Sugar Bear too!
They treat everyone like criminals. You must lock up your purse or you can't shop. They also have staff follow you around the entire time acting like other customers. I will never go back. It's a shame because they had a lot of amazing items I wanted to buy. After that, no way would I give them a dime. Just assign an employee to walk around with customers if you're going to assume everyone is a thief.
