The St. Augustine and St. Johns County Visitor Information Center is a really nice tool for people visiting the historic district of St. Augustine. There is a nice parking option right next store that provides sheltered parking for your vehicle. The Visitors Center itself is also in a nice spot to access things folks might be interesting in seeing. Basically across the street is the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. Across the street in the other direction is St. Georges Street. Or the Colonial Quarter, Among other places of interest and dining options. The visitors center obviously haas rest rooms. A nice thing its they have two sets. So they can have one mens room or women’s room open, while they clean the other men’s or women’s room. So they are kept very clean and free of closures for cleaning. There is also the normal information on the area history and offerings for the area. I really liked the model ship. They have a good staff of folks wanting to help guide you. Of course there are folks offering tickets to attractions and the gift shop. There are trams and buses accessible from the visitors center. If I recall correctly, there was even a play area for the young ones to burn off some energy after car rides. Even the building and surroundings are interesting to check out. It’s just a nice place with helpful people. I found it quite the valuable tool for our visit.
A Must-Visit Historic Gem – St. Augustine, Florida Today, we had the incredible opportunity to explore one of the most iconic and historically rich towns in the United States – St. Augustine. This picturesque city truly feels like stepping back in time. With its beautifully preserved Spanish architecture and charming cobblestone streets, every corner tells a story. We chose to do a self-guided walking tour, which was a fantastic way to take in the vibrant atmosphere at our own pace. There are also guided tours available for those who want to dive even deeper into the town's fascinating past. From colonial forts and old churches to quaint shops and delightful cafes, there's something here for everyone. The Spanish influence is evident everywhere – in the architecture, the layout of the streets, and the cultural vibe of the town. We absolutely loved every moment and highly recommend visiting St. Augustine to anyone who appreciates history, beauty, and a relaxing, enriching experience. Don’t miss it – it's a perfect destination for a day trip or a weekend getaway!
We visited St. Augustine today and truly had a wonderful time. It’s such a beautiful place, and we enjoyed our visit overall. At the end of our day, we stopped at the gift shop in the visitors center to look for a specific souvenir. When we asked for help, two employees were standing nearby chatting. The young employee repeatedly pointed us in a direction, but we were unable to find the item. Despite this, she did not come over to assist and seemed visibly annoyed when we still couldn’t locate it and finally came over to help. As visitors, we rely on staff for guidance, especially in unfamiliar places. A more helpful and welcoming interaction would have made a big difference. If your team is regularly interacting with tourists, it would be beneficial to emphasize kindness, attentiveness, and a willingness to assist. We truly appreciated our time in St. Augustine and hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future visitors
Love this place. Only been to Florida twice now and both times visited here. Family bright me last time and I suggested we came back for another visit this time. Loads of history great atmosphere loads of cafes bars etc where you can sit and watch the world go by. Well worth the visit.
We would rate the museum, the building and grounds where it is an easy five stars. They have very interesting information and displays of pottery and other items from the area that are several centuries old. The museum is well done. Unfortunately we were there almost a half hour and were never acknowledged.
