Cart path only. Greens 1 month after aeration still bumpy, yet charging as if all good. Old guy at pro shop was not friendly. Other staff seemed cool. Other than that, decent layout and great playing partner I met that day. Won't be back, sadly. Really wanted to like this place
I loved playing here. Everyone was so nice and catered to what ever i needed. The young man in the pro shop who talked to me about football and games and helped me get a tee time, and both the young lady by the golf carts and the gentleman, Joe, who both drove me to my hotel room before and after the round, terrific service. I felt extremely welcomed especially since i was visiting from out of town. The course was great, one of the best rounds I’ve played and I’m not very good. Would 100 percent play here again i enjoyed every minute.
For the money, there are better options. We arrived early to go to the range but was then pressured into starting 10 min early. Then they put the next 4 right behind us so created a backed up, play fast kind of round right from the start. There was a bit of slow play in our group at one point but not the whole round and we were told to speed it up which is fine. My issue is from the very start, everything seemed rushed and with proper spacing it would have been all avoided. We finished the course at exactly 4 hours and 10 minutes which is what is published as the expected pace of play. This felt more like a $70 per round kind of course. I wouldn’t go back there. There are much better options nearby. The course itself was above average but nothing special. It is located near some busy roads on a few holes so you don’t get that quiet peaceful setting.
Came here while on vacation and enjoyed the round. Great place to enjoy golf! The course was in great shape. The greens were fast and in good shape. The cart paths are wide and smooth. The course has Bermuda greens and fairways. No gimmicks on the course which is nice. There is water pretty much on every hole but the landing areas are large enough to avoid it coming into play. The bunkers are fair as well. The facilities are in great shape. The signage for each hole was very beautiful. The only thing missing were consistent yardage markers on the paths. The pricing is progressive, so the earlier you go the more expensive the round. They are very transparent with the greens fees, which is nice. I would have expected the cost to be $85 or less due to the round being mid-week but it was a touch higher than I would expect. They do not have a 9 hole rate either. If you want to use the practice facilities only, you can pay $50 before 2pm and practice all you want. After 2pm, it drops to $25. All-in-all, I had fun!
Stay away! I played there at least a half a dozen times in last 15 years but never again!! Not the same experience A $180 green fee ($ 360 with my wife) which included such an insulting! 3% credit card fee ?? restaurant not open for sandwiches or bloody Mary’s until 11 AM. Air conditioning in the golf shop not working. wastebaskets on the range rusting Range ball old , and beat up ring the doorbell at bag drop so somebody could come ?? Waited 10 minutes for them to get there Place is basically on life-support I guess since the golf Hall of Fame moved out of town it’s owned by Troon golf now ? They should be embarrassed on how the place is ran. Find another course in St. John’s County
