Very clean booths, some faded paint in a few places. No big deal. Chips and salsa were mid and their homemade hot sauce is not that hot. I ordered the Molcajetes bowl, which was amazing. Meat was good quality and the veggies and broth were delicious. Jalapeno margarita tasted good, alcohol not that strong. I would come here again, but it was pretty expensive. $80 including tip and two drinks, but I did order the highest item they have.
Dull atmosphere service didn't listen to the order all the way, not even an entire quarter of eating my food. There was like a rock or small gravel in my beans or in my rice because I mixed them and took a bite. Thank goodness the manager was kind enough to give us a free meal. But after biting into that whatever it was me and my wife completely lost our appetite and left. We're still kind enough to leave a $2 tip. Would not go back will not go back. Youse guys should take example from the one over on Collins road. That is a family friendly and a very popular Salsa's for a reason.
Came here for a quick lunch. Went to the restroom to wash my hands, no soap. Bathroom door is pretty disgusting. The waitress was very nice and attentive. She brought over a chips, salsa, and my water immediately. However the salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce and nothing like what salsa should taste like. I ordered the three shrimp tacos, Mexican style. These were by far the worst tacos I have ever had. I covered the second one in salsa to add some sort of flavor and by the third one I dug into it to see what was the issue and the shrimp appears like it may have been cooked yesterday. It was very rubbery and flavorless with chard flat portions on them. Nothing at all what shrimp should look like. I pointed this out to a different waitress who came to my table and no discount was given on my check. I will not be back to this restaurant.
I want to preface that the last time I went here, food and service was excellent. It was a little loud, but it’s expected. We went in today, Sunday (11/9/25), and saw one sign outside by the door, one on the window, and one inside on the wall saying “House Margarita $4.99.” We were excited and went inside. We sat down, got our chips and salsa, and then waited. 10 minutes go by. A table got sat behind us, and the server immediately took their drink order. We waited another 10 minutes, and the server finally came by to take our order. We ordered our drinks, my fiancé asked to confirm if the special was for the regular sized house margarita, and the server said yes. She came back to say the special doesn’t include the margarita. And instead of giving us a compromise, or work with us,
First of all, I would like to say that this restaurant desperately needs a facelift. The restaurant looks quite deteriorated from the inside. The area towards the bathrooms is filthy and clearly looks like if they give it no maintenance at all. The Arrachera steak was very hard to shew and the fries were absolutely the worst I’ve ever had! The Santa Fe chicken “Sauce” had a particular taste that left me worried hopefully I won’t get sick. I recently had exactly the same plate over at the Palencia, St Augustine restaurant, and I noticed that the portion here is smaller, and the preparation is not quite the same. This is the second time that I come to this restaurant and both times I’ve been disappointed. Definitely not coming back to this particular restaurant.
