Played Royal St. Augustine and the real headline here is Mike, the starter—former U.S. Marshal. And let me tell you… that checks out. This man runs the first tee like it’s a federal operation. No funny business, no slow play, no wandering off—just smooth, efficient golf. Honestly, if every course had a Mike, 5-hour rounds would be a thing of the past. He somehow manages to keep everything moving while still being friendly and cracking jokes. You feel like you’re both welcomed… and lightly supervised at all times. On top of that, the course itself was in great shape. Fairways were solid, greens rolled true, and overall way better than expected for the price. Between the conditions and Mike keeping the peace, this was one of the most enjoyable rounds I’ve had in a while. Would absolutely come back—partly for the golf, mostly to make sure I stay in line.
Golfed today Thursday Nov 13 2025. First time golfing this course and had an outstanding welcome by the staff and playing 18 was so fun! The course is in great shape and so many challenges as a 90’s golfer! Highly recommend this course. Well maintained and the greens were awesome! You gotta play here! I will be back!!!!!
The price was right for the conditions of the ways but these were excellent shape, wasn't too crowded and very friendly staff.
For sure will be back. This is a challenging course if you aren't hitting straight. One side is water the other side is typically swamp and/or forest. The staff is very friendly and you should always tip the bartender extra since she works extra hard to ensure your beer is nice and cold for your next nine or post 18. The driving range was small and personal and no mats. Full bar and full menu. My first time but not my last. Most of the greens were good or were on their way to good.
Went into the round with an open mind. Heard about a revamp of the course with all new greens! The greens were abysmal. Too often I’ve seen greens be torn up and redone, just to not receive the proper maintenance. It’s a plinko board with all the weeds across the green But by far the worst part was the lack of water and bathrooms. 2 empty water jugs were on holes 5 and 13, and no bathrooms aside from the pro shop. I thought, “no big deal, I’ll get a water on the turn” 3 dollars for the cheapest water you can buy, the same ones that are almost 3 bucks for a 24 pack I understand profit, and needing to keep doors open. But if you need to do that by overcharging for hydration on an 85+ degree day, you will never see me again. Only reason I gave 2 stars is for the bartender who admitted the cost of water is insane. Too many golf courses in the area to be this lackluster
