I want to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. Working with Melissa T, I often felt uncomfortable and at times even victimized during visits. My child also seemed very uneasy and often times more distressed with some situations, despite me reaching out multiple times to share concerns with her. I never received any emails back abut my concerns. In my experience, the focus - both from Melissa and the practice - seemed more about payment and fees than about communication, support, or the well-being of my child. There were also extra and seemingly unnecessary fees, and it felt like the practice would keep attempting to charge my card until the payment went through. During a conversation, Melissa made a comment to me that “the person with the most money usually wins” when discussing child custody. In my experience, I ultimately had to stop seeing her because the fees kept increasing, including charges for missed appointments that seemed excessive. While I understand services cost money, the emphasis on fees over care was very disappointing. This is my personal perspective, and I hope it helps others make informed choices.
Although my therapist was awesome… The owner Hannah discontinued my service bc of not having a payment on file when I have insurance…… so I wouldn’t suggest going to this business… unless you want charges and then having the issues of getting a refund… Hanna is not compassionate… In my opinion he’s money hungry…. I WILL NEVER go to any of his business. I don’t want to give him any of my money…..
We came here to get help for our blended family Of 8. We told them on day 1 we wanted all (6) of our children seen & We were told that would happen. We ran everyone’s insurance card to make sure. We were upfront about everything going on in our family & extremely eager to fix things. After 5 of our children had met & fell in love with their therapist, we were told they could not see our oldest, my step son. Because of this, my partner pulled his children from their care, while I kept mine enrolled.. however , the day after he pulled his & wrote a negative google review, they filed a DCF report for major medical negligence against my partner & I. Retaliation much ? Fortunately, We already made a connection with another mental health facility the day he pulled them. Our case worker even thought this was all a joke. Shout out to Danielle at the front for working so Diligently to schedule everyone on The same Schedule. She was phenomenal & so Kind. Nicole Demoya & her superior Amanda Hannah were behind all the rest. Do not trust them .
After leaving this review a new Dcf case magically opened .. be warned Nichole and her offices want to destroy you and your family They use dirty tricks to try and lock you down with them. Nichole herself told me I was in the best place for my son, she even had me check to make sure they took his insurance. She aloud me to enroll my other kids and set appointments up for them, once my other kids got on there schedule is when she told me she couldn’t see my oldest… the reason we went there in the 1st place and knowing it’s about a 2hour round trip. Set up to get 3 out of 4 kids and not taking 1 after assuring me I was at the best place for my son and what he needed then saying they can’t take him is bs and instead of getting my son help sooner we’re now weeks behind getting help all because of Nichole.
I can’t say enough about the amazing therapist and staff at Rivers Edge. Stephanie Wood has the best approach and understanding for her patients. She has been a key element on my road to recovery after my stroke.
