Quigley House

As a 30 year law enforcement officer, I sent many victims to Quigley House and other domestic violence facilitates. My daughter was a recent victim of domestic violence and was the true example of a DV victim. I told her to contact Quigley House the first day it happened and the abuser was arrested. They offered no safe shelter, they offered no advise or services and actually wasted our time. They did NOTHING, but waste our time. It's a publicly funded joke. Waste of money! It's a place to employ people, so they can say how wonderful they are. My daughter is still homeless and in need of assistance, but we will no longer waste our time with Quigley House. They did not even know the laws and legal requirements for a DV victim. We had to learn everything for ourselves. We have been waiting for a return phone call for over a week (8/24/25) and still NOTHING! Don't waste your time.

QH was there to support me, mentally. I didn't NEED somewhere to go. I needed support from people that understand. I didn't realize this until I decided to leave, or else I would have just seen a therapist and got a hotel. But nonetheless, the ladies here were my saving grace and I'll never forget them.

Please don’t waste your time! These people are fraud. The case workers do nothing but sit around, smoke cigarettes, & feed stray cats all day. They give you referrals to misleading information. They don’t have housing assistance. They open their office door for you when they feel like it. Please have a car they aren’t reliable with transportation. After 6 weeks you’ll be put out no exceptions. I witnessed them terminate a mother of 2 children leaving them homeless. They’ll try to accuse you for damages they already had so take pics of everything.

Qh, isn't helpful at all unless your on drugs and need to detox . But other than that there no help the child advocate is amazing and some of the other ladies but the case worker is useless all they care about are the cats really . Tbh. They give you papers and false hope . It's kinda ridiculous. But unless your detoxing it's a great place . I've seen and heard about them actually kicking women out with no where to go but the streets with there kids. Actually sad. I wouldn't have the heart for a job like that . I spent a short time there and I followed all the rules . Did what I was supposed was promise stuff and never got it . But you can call anytime to talk on the phone. But best of luck . Also of you have police report the cops cant take you or call you have to call for yourself. And be placed on hold for a while. Come back with this lame excuse that they have a new policy you have to be a clay county resident 6mos to go there that's mind blowing to think like that period and there isn't any funding for nothing . I was told so many times to keep my house even though my abuser lives within 500 yards of me . No type of injunction nothing the responding officers was just as dumb found as i was about this matter what's the point to have a shelter if you won't help !!!! Think it's time for new ppl to run the place if I could give -5 stars I would . It's an embarrassment and baffling.. smh ...
