Purple Roots was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was excellent, with so many great options to choose from, and everything we tried was full of flavor. I also loved that it highlights Filipino cuisine and roots from the Philippines, which made the whole experience feel even more special and authentic. The restaurant was very clean, beautifully decorated, and filled with details that reflect the culture in such a warm and thoughtful way. The atmosphere was inviting, unique, and full of charm. Definitely a 5-star spot and a place I’d happily return to.
Walked in to the sound of wind chimes lightly playing. Immediately greeted by a nice Filipina lady asking my bf and I if it was our first time, and since it was we said yes! She promptly helped us by guiding us around the screen / menu. She was super sweet and friendly. Our food is authentic, full of flavor and completely delicious. The sauces are sweet, spicy, tangy and normal salty - garlic and soy. The atmosphere is welcoming, quiet - easy to talk, and comfy. The restaurant is beautiful, full of Filipino decor :) We ordered halo halo drink/dessert, lumpia, glass noodles and bistec..: it was all so so good!!
This is a legit top taste on food, great service. I placed an online order around 830pm, their closing time is 930pm. I ordered the goat adobo. I was told it will be ready in 15 minutes online. I proceeded to pick up at the store. By the time I got there, it is about 850pm. I was greeted nicely, I told her that I am picking up. She said, "oh, I tried to call you, we are out of goat, can we get you chicken adobo?" I was ok with the sub, I just ordered the goat because I never had it before. She finished off thr order and sent me out the door. The surprise came when I opened my bag. It had rice and the chicken adobo, plus an additional dish which I like better than the chicken adobo, it was a pork belly with some awesome sauce. I was blown away by that. Purple Roots, thank you. You didn't had to comp it by providing two dishes, but I am a forever customer now. Love these small business, didn't just do the right thing, but above a beyond, hard to find these days.
Great customer service and a beautiful atmosphere, but the food was mediocre at most. Having just returned from the Philippines where we enjoyed amazing, authentic cuisine, our standards might be a bit high. Unfortunately, the dishes fell short. The pancit was both salty and overcooked. The pork lumpia was also on the saltier side, though it had a very nice, satisfying crunch. The pork adobo lacked depth of flavor, and the rice served with it was dry. On the positive side, the plating was beautiful, and the staff was wonderfully welcoming. This place has a lot of potential, and I hope the kitchen refines its flavors.
We came last Friday 2/6 and it wasn’t too busy (thankfully) but when we were leaving it was getting busy. Let me start with the staff was helpful and answered any questions. The environment was Filipino filled memorabilia and gives you that feel. To eat we started with the Lumpia with pork. These were probably some of the best we have ever had. They were crunchy, and juicy at the same time would order these again in a heart beat. Then we wanted to try Bao Buns with BBQ pork. They were so good! The bun was so soft and the pork was good too. Then here came the Pancit with Chicken. This was soooo good and the flavors were plenty. The amount of seasoning and flavors that came out of this was beyond comprehension. Go here enjoy it try anything and everything and you wont be disappointed.
